Vtim 3rd Gear March 21, 2003 Share March 21, 2003 There's no need to avoid the windscreen & windows, but you must: 1) not park under the hot sun prior to washing (all surface must not be hot). 2) don't wash your car under hot sun. 3) wash your car when the engine has cool down, test by putting you palm on the bonnet. Epsilon 2nd Gear March 21, 2003 Share March 21, 2003 Hi Vtim, If I were to wash the windscreen with HG88, will it cause my wiper to have the jumping problem?

Epsilon 2nd Gear March 24, 2003 Share March 24, 2003 finally...got hold of the 1 lltr bottle.......applied it on sat night after a wash and applied 1 layer after that and buff it, I run my fingers across the bodywork. And I find that it has a sandy feeling.......then still got some more time ....I wax the bonnet again......and the result is w/ wax and w/o wax no much differences.........so do I wax it first and apply HG88 or the other way or just apply HG88 only? Normally how many layers does you apply first before you just mix it together with the shampoo and rinse the car? thanks.
Saaber Neutral Newbie March 24, 2003 Share March 24, 2003 Apply HG88 first before applying any other thing...if body still got sandy feeling, it is because you need to remove the contaminant with claybar first...
Epsilon 2nd Gear March 24, 2003 Share March 24, 2003 thanks.....will go get a claybar soon........

Soya Supersonic March 24, 2003 Share March 24, 2003 Sandy feeling sounds a little unusual. Juz curious, what was the condition of your paintwork to start with?
Epsilon 2nd Gear March 24, 2003 Share March 24, 2003 I think my paintwork is normal.....I have been washing it once a week....wax once every 2 weeks if got time......2 layer of wax every waxing....
Epsilon 2nd Gear March 24, 2003 Share March 24, 2003 could be some residue....
Soya Supersonic March 24, 2003 Share March 24, 2003 Wow! Waxing every fortnight - that sounds way beyond normal! (i assume your paintwork is quite new and not remotely oxidized, rite?) Fatt-fatt seems to be a gloss sealant. Dunno if it's any good at getting rid of ingrained grime which could be the cause of the roughness. I polish only every 3-4 mths using Blue Coral Autofom and still get a very smooth finish everytime. ↡ Advertisement
