Ok, mystery solved. The seal between the main pipe and the radiator itself was broken. ie, the pipe just at the top of the radiator, stretching the length of the cooling fins.

$200 [angel]

Btw, what do you think could've caused it? Not my aggressive driving I hope... [lipsrsealed][lipsrsealed]

You mean to say the pipe ( radiator water intlet neck )move towards the engine casuing the radiotr fine to be elongated? Very surprise where is the pulling or pushing force coming from unless your engine mountings are in very bad shaft. Or the coolant temp is so high that the solder holding the inlet pipe and radiator has actually reach the metling point. Care to show any digital shots

nope, more like the engine vibration coupled with a stiff rubber hose. u should replace the hose if u hv not. as usual with all wear n tear, only ur mechanic weld back the damaged part, the problem will seek for the next weaker spot.

but let's keep the fingers crozzed.

Hi Yeobh,

Actually Simon is quite a good mech. I tried him & found his worker pretty experienced.

Have added him to my list of "Good" mechs to use. [thumbsup]

That's why was quite surprised he cud bungle up a simple job. OK so now it's clear the bungling mech was NOT simon. [flowerface]

Erm, yeah, the pipe, but it's not the pipe itself that broke. It's the rubber seal between the long pipe and the metal cooling fins.

It leaked along the whole seal; there was green stuff along the whole length.

No lah, not the whole radiator. Tat would cost a lot...

Only the main pipe was replaced. The inverted half-pipe like thing...

Not that Simon.shakehead.gif Xtraun had already posted the correct address.thumbsup.gif

Its basically a spare parts shop which also does repair and servicing of cars outside the shop's carpark. Set up is very basic so pricing would be reasonable.

This place was recommended to me by my Dad, whom uses his service years ago when he drives. wink.gif

Huh, not so cheem lah...

Sorry, I don't have digicam, but this is the best I can draw, haha...

Look at the arrow, that's where the seal along the full length of the radiator gave way.
