Jon Lee Me driving a carburated engine car, so sometimes it helps when stepping the accelerator during starting engine. Just a few tap-and-release during cranking. But I don't step the accelerator before shutting-off engine cos I hear its not so good for the engine. The additional burst in combustion (stepping accelerator) just before the engine shuts down may burnt away and lubricant in the combustion chamber, leaving it unprotected when you start the engine the next time - that's what I hear. My fren taught me to do it for easier starting the next time. Meaning to leave some fuel in the cylinder. But now auto car so never have that practise anymore. I step only before i turn off the engine only It's not good for engine... I've read it somewhere in MCF... He say something about fuel will cause engine to wear faster... Easy to maintain as in less breakdowns & can repair minor problems, unlike injection where u have to change the electronics if it fails. Injection has a flatter response curve, so no flat spots on power delivery though. For me, I like the older stuff as it's easier to diy & maintain here & in MY.
