Who is this audio guy? From PI or audio store?

 

I tried adding a Bluetooth device when the car is moving. The display prompt something like not allow, dangerous as the car is moving. Can't remember the exact.

I can only add when the car is stationary.

Didn't try at 25kmh or slower.

 

 

This maybe a clue to you able to your issue disappeared when car in stationary or 25kmh.

 

 

I am referring to HRV with stock HU.

Vezel is using a non stock HU?

My vezel came with a Pioneer avh-285BT HU. Non-stock.

 

Audio guy is actually the accessory shop engaged by the PI to install the HU.

 

Upon checking with some of my colleagues who also drive vezel, they dont seem to have this problem. One thing is that they are driving the non-facelift version, but i doubt this has much link with the strange occurence.

 

But to have the volume auto crank to max while driving is serious disturbance, torture, and not to mention it being dangerous too!

 

The shop offered to do a one-one replacement, as they never heard of such occurence before. Just thought of asking the brothers here if they've heard of or encountered anything like this before i head up to the west from the east... sigh.

Told the SE rightaway when it happened... just praying hard that its not the steering wheel control buttons that are faulty..

 

I assume you bought from PI.

Hi fellow vezel owners,

 

Been driving my facelifted vezel for about a week now. I've came to realise something strange about the steering wheel audio control....

 

Whenever i drive and try to adjust the volume by pressing once, the HU "goes wild", i.e. the volume either goes all the way up, or all the way down. Sounds like sticky key syndrome but the buttons go back to their original position.

 

This disappears when the car is stationary or when speeds are lesser than 25km/h.

 

The car audio guy did a recalibration of the steering wheel control but it didnt work. He perceived it to be a HU problem and wanted to replace my HU. If the symptoms persist, i will have to talk to my sales guy.

 

Just wondering if any fellow owners out there has faced this problem, or knows about this issue? Thanks.

After a few hours of  troubleshooting, the audio shop decided to change to original Pioneer adapter. Problem solved.

You can tell the installer to check on the adapter which is connected at the back of the HU. For my case the installer uses non-Pioneer adapter which is the cause of the problem

Thanks! that is great info... if an adapter can solve the problem, im sure it beats doing a one-one exchange of HU

Apologies if this question has been asked before but am curious, how come HR-V DX (base model) according to Honda price list has no $5k CEVS rebate? Different engine used from the LX model?

I wonder about Honda's profit margin..

Be it Kah or PIs, the HRV /Vezel has saved the company. The new Civic isn't exactly setting the world ablaze, but this car is.

 

Considering that the XV and Forrester from Subaru are 10k less or the same price respectively, you wonder about how much profit is Honda making.. 

Even the Corolla is about 10k less.

 

This statement of yours only applies to Singapore.

 

I can tell you that KM is probably making a tidy profit on the HR-V at their price. The PIs are the ones selling the Vezel at a low margin.

Personally both PI and AD are making.

Sure it may seem the selling price for Kah is higher, but when you add the benefits, you also see the marginal difference is narrower. But a bigger company also has bigger overheads.

Nevertheless, this car has taken the whole world by storm, and rightly so. Most owners have been very happy, and it is the king of it's segment.

Anything else that i should ask?

Should think twice and beware of many comments on forum. Many are just PI in disguise. If you go to warehouses of all imported cars you can see huge fleets of Vezels unsold.

So did you get conned or did you simply misread the T&C?

Got the freebies that others have posted?

Sounds like a PI writing to make AD look lousy or a real lousy SE at AD.

I didn't hear about KM 'upgraded to guarantee COE'

I only hear about *guarantee COE

And the * means it is limited.

I went a few times and some times the SE told me there is no more guarantee COE as all have been taken.

Those were the times where didn't place my booking :)

So far all AD delivers even without guarantee. It's always PI that goes newspapers.

Today sent my car for servicing, workshop told me there is a vezel with the BBC unit burnt. Lucky car did not catch fire. Think first case in singapore. Hope LTA and PI will do something to expedite the replacement process
