Narrow? Ok lah... the passengers seat close to the door, can seat 5 adults comfortably. I managed to squeeze 7 adults. Compared to Nissan Sunny and Toyota Corolla where the hip-point is lower, Airwave can seat more people more comfortably due to higher hip-point and your knees are not bent while being seated.

I only see one sort of a knob thing on the fuel level indicator side. That is the only knob thing there. Is that the one?

There is a button at the fuel indicator gauge.. If u see the total travel of your car travel so far, then during your next top up, reset it by pressing this button and hold till it read 0.0km. Then next press again, u will c the FC (?km/l), then press again to c the total distance travel for your car. If u press again, it'll go back to 0.0km (or the distance travel after u initial reset).

 

Normally I didnt reset the mileage until the next top up. With 2 mark abt 1/4 mark, i'm hitting 500km, but FC had drop to 17.7km/l, may be due to more city distance and carrying full load.

I really envy you guys that your FC can be so high. As mentioned earlier, I only get about 420km for full tank. Please note that I am not a speedster and I travel light.

My first tank FC was really bad. I am hoping and keeping my fingers cross that it is just the first tank and it is due to the breaking in period. My second full tank seems to be doing slightly better base on initial calculation but I still have 3/4 tank to go.

 

I will be due for first service very soon......does anyone have any experience to share about going to the mechanic assigned by the PIs? I am sure most of us here have our regular and trusted mechanics that we usually send our cars to. I do not want to be "ripped off" by these mechanics, knowing that my own mechanic can do the same job for lesser cost. Your experience will be very helpful. My PI's mechanic is in J**** P********, and not sure what they are like. Please share with me your experience if you have been there.

For the first servcing, you can always try them out first and decide later. I believe your packkage come with 3 or 5 years free servicing on labour right? The last time i went, they only charged me for the engine only (syn) for about 60 plus. The rest is FOC. Anyway, for new car, there will not be much problem where they will not ask u to change this or that, not logic right? If they do, ask them to consult you first and you decide to change. This is just my 2 cents.

I really hope not....then all the PIs and Honda are guilty of false advertising. My dad drives an Altis with bigger tank size. it will really piss me off if my mileage is not better than my dad's. The difference should not be so drastic even though we may do more city driving compare to the Japanese. But it should not be from 18km/l (as advertised) to less than 10km/l, particularly to some of the owners who have stated it in this thread.

THis issue is important to us due to the escalating fuel prices, we should not be deceived.

You have mistaken bro Steadfast meaning. He meaant after your 1st servicing, your FC should be better. As for the FC thing, what stated on paper (18km/l) is on highway travelling, not urban area. So far, for what I see and read, getting 16km/l is the best here. But getting less tha 10km/l is something unusual. I get about 11+km/l.

well due to the recent increase in petrol price, my last few pumps were at across the causeway. I find that the petrol has much difference compared to petrol in Singapore. Any comments? i feel less mileage, less power. only think, I can take my own time to top up my tank there. Shake and Pump. Shake and Pump to the brim.

I have heard that the quality of petrol in Malaysia is not quite on par compared those in Singapore. I have not been into Johore for quite a while already. Not particularly interested especially with the recent gun point theft, and robberies events. I know that the prices there are friendlier, but I feel it is not worth the effort.

There is nothing in Johore that attracts me. Things may be slightly pricier here, but I rather protect our own economy and lives.

 

By the way, what is shake and pump?

Shake and pump = Shake the car and try to pump in more petrol..

Hi, for me the experience was different.

Before my 1st servicing, FC=12/L.

After 1st servicing, FC=14 - 15/L.

Just changed my spark plug and air filter, FC=13/L - 13/L.

U travel mostly city or highway?

Normally i travel at 80-100km/h at highway,with rpm > 2500.

At city, normally travel at 50-80km/h unless slow traffic, with rpm >2000.

Try to avoid traffic if u think the route will jam.

 

So far, with 3 mark to empty, now hitting just above 600km. Estimate most likely only able to reach 640-645 just before the warning light.

Hi, I had just finished my 1st service this pm.. so far FC still maintain at 17.7km/l.. still early to tell anything. Will wait n c my 3rd top up.. which is pretty soon (most likely top up tomorrow).

Can share with me how long it takes to do the 1st servicing?

Will I be able to stay and wait? The place I am suppose to go is quite far from my office and it will be rather inconvenient (travelling time and cost wise) for me.

 

How soon does one change spark plug?
