  2. Once again Optimum technology has come up with a new coating and this time is meant for glass. Optiglass is a coating with hydrophobic effect for glass and it suppose to prevent stone chips, scratches and those usual water stains and marls for pollutant. How good it is? I decided to put on test on my berlingo windscreen. It has been awhile since i touch the machine. With the help from Jeremy of Miracle detail. Everything went smoothly. Polishing windscreen is never a easy job as it require the correct material and equipment. Unlike paint, glass is much harder, probably those expert in glass polishing knows better. My windscreen has been a testbed for various products amd this is how bad under the inspection light. Material used. Cerium oxide and rayon pad. Cerium oxide has good cutting amdit works well with machine. If you are using hand, i would advice you to get those off the shelves glass polish.
  3. In the Japanese automotive world, there is a quirky automobile category known as Kei cars. These cars are designed to comply with local tax and insurance regulations. Many Japanese automakers manufacture such cars, for example, the Daihatsu Copen and the Suzuki Lapin. Most of these Kei cars have a unique outlook but one such Kei car looks a little similar to an Italian supercar, especially from the rear. The images you see here is actually a Kei car made by Yamaha and it is known as the Yamaha Ami. If you were to take a quick glance at the car from the rear, you could have thought that you have just seen a Ferrari F40. But in reality, the rest of the car does not resemble the Italian supercar. The Yamaha Ami is categorised in the Kei car group as it comes with a 660cc engine. The Yamaha Ami features a three cylinder engine and the car is available in two engine options. The base model comes with a 6-valve single overhead camshaft engine that churns out 42bhp. For those who wish for more power, they can opt for the 12-valve double overhead camshaft that delivers around 55bhp at 7,500rpm. The engine is mounted at the front and the engine powers the front wheels, unlike the supercar that it impersonates which is mid-mounted and rear wheel driven. The model name Ami may sound a little girly to some but the company
  4. CNA Counterfeit coloured contact lenses being sold in local optical shops By Sharon See | Posted: 20 July 2011 1316 hrs SINGAPORE: The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) said it found counterfeit coloured contact lenses being sold in local optical shops in June. The counterfeits are imitations of "FreshLook ColorBlends" by CIBA Vision and have been found to be "unsafe and of poor quality". This is the first known case of counterfeit health products found in legitimate suppliers. HSA said it has seized more than 100 boxes from at least five optical shops islandwide. The counterfeits look almost authentic, apart from typographical errors on the packaging. It is difficult to differentiate between the authentic and counterfeit lenses with the naked eye. HSA said lab tests found colour pigments deposited on the interior surface of the lens - rather than the exterior - which causes the pigments to be in direct contact with the eye. It also found Pseudomonas aeruginosa - a harmful bacteria that causes serious eye infection - in the storage liquid of the lenses. So far, HSA has only received feedback from one consumer about adverse effects, like eye irritation, caused by the counterfeit lenses. HSA said it was notified of the counterfeits by CIBA Vision in mid-June. The company had received stocks of "FreshLook ColorBlends" contact lenses for exchange from several optical shops. Upon investigation, CIBA Vision confirmed the products were counterfeits as they were not manufactured by them. HSA said previous cases of counterfeit health products were largely confined to the black market or internet, and they mostly involved imitations of "lifestyle" drugs like erectile dysfunction medicines such as Viagra and Cialis. HSA said the case is still under investigation, and so far, some 10 people have been questioned. Anyone found guilty of supplying counterfeit medical devices faces a fine of $100,000 or three years' jail. - CNA/fa
