  1. Hi bros, I'm looking for a local contact who sell OBD II reader for Mercedes W210. I think it's available quite cheaply on ebay / US websites. But I didn't want to risk having any sort of compatibility issues as I was told some OBD II doesn't work on W210?? Would be happy if this OBD II reader can also read both my W210 and my Toyota Fielder..... Any one with any ideas?
  2. Hi all, Contemplating in getting a used W210 1997 to commute in JB. Wanted to get feedback for this Benz model, wonder whether there are any significant negative and positive things/stuffs that are known to this model. Was told parts/accessories are widely available over here and could be cheaper than Toyota. Many used Benz are still found here so guess the support are easily available here. Thank you very much. Regards,

  4. Hi all, Recently I noted a whining noise from the rear wheels when the speed is near to 100km/h. Initially I thought it was a wheel bearing problem and went to purchase 1 set ready for replacement. But just before I sent it for replacement, I realised that the whining noise went away when you do not accelerate. That means the sound is not speed induced but rather acceleration induced. Upon reaching my workshop, I checked with the mechanic and he says my MB W210 has a differential gear box at the rear tyre. He claims it's not serviceable and usually replaced completely with a spare. Is it true? I thought differential gearboxes should also have some transmission fluid? Anyone encountered this before? Anyway the spare wheel bearings that I have on hands, I think I'm just going to keep it for future replacement although the shop is very ok for me to return it. Anyway the bearings' isn't expensive and the mileage is already 110k. Anyone knows the normal replacement period for wheel bearing?
  5. Hi Guys, Got a W210 which comes with 15" rims 205/65 R15. I know it's very small rim for a big tyre. But thats what we got from the PI when we bought this car 6 years ago. Now the rims are quite badly scratched. 1 corner of the rim looks like coral reef. And as the tyres are as bald as my head now, I'm wondering if I should take the chance to change the rims also. Called a few shops and realised that as C&C standard rim size is 16", the aftermarkets sell only 17" rims. But I think 16" is ok as it'ld be comfortable. Furthermore, I was hoping that at 16", I have more choices of cheap + good tyres ie Kumho? BFGoodrich? Now, I usually pay $130/tyre for Michelin MXV8 (Energy). Sometimes I don't know if the tyre shops are telling the truth. They said if I go for 16", the price of the tyre can be cheaper??? Just a thought...wondering as this car is already 6-7yo...maybe I should look for some 2nd hand 16" rims from those ppl who bought their benz from C&C? If so, anyone with any idea on pricing? and where to look for them? Another idea I currently have is to buy some cheap but nice looking rims from JB. Just anyhow use for another 3+ years and the car is gone. (10 yr scrap?) Not sure if extending COE or scrapping it. Everytime our decision changes whenever legislation or policy in sg changes. Just have to see what happens in 3 years' time. Any views?

    W210 Xenon

Hi I had been trying to put a mercedes w211 xenon projector into Depo headlight in which is aftermarket (Custom) but looked nice The question is the depo that is sold here are with xenon and its oem (bought it at the dealer). I do not blind people infront of me so i wonder whether will it be legal to use in Singapore as all parts that i used are original OEM RHD. Anybody experienced this before? Will i get pulled over in the middle of the street? The Xenon will be OEM 4300k. How about inspection? Mine is due in april next year i guess.

  8. Hallo Bros, need advice actually. My dad's W210 overheated during the public hols and now at agent's workshop in UBI.Stuck at 2nd link bridge and had to be towed to agent. Now agent asking for $6000 just to do repairs.Sigh!we had the car for 10 years skali now this has had to happen! At first they ask for $3000 just to change the cooling system (radiator)of the car from top to bottom then this evening call again have to top up another $3000 bcos have to change other parts due to car engine dying every now and then.I have a feeling that its bcos my dad told them to fix the radiator and not to change other parts since he wants to do it at a frens workshop.....now kena charge even more!Any1 can advise or have contacts in C&C UBI that can help me on this?they even advise to do top overhaul previously....total bill came up to $10k???sighhhhhhhhh.to think that its just radiator leaking due to overheating.pls advise.......
