  1. Hi all, Thesedays, my aircon sometimes blow out warm air when engine is idling, but it will be ok when the car is moving. I suspect that the condenser fan is not running well. My question is, how often does this fan cuts-in and run? When I first on my air-con (while car is stationary), I realise that this fan doesn't run. Then it suddenly comes alive (together with another fan (radiator fan?) next to it) maybe 5 minutes later. Then after running for like 3 minutes, it will stop again....and won't come back on again until like 10 minutes later. How to check if this fan is performing as it should?
  2. was quoted $240 by Shell Autoserv. Anyone who have repaired this part before was quoted cheaper? driving honda airwave now
  3. Hi my car air con gas has been leaking and today finally decided to repair it once and for all. I went to a air con work shop at circuit road and was quoted $1200 to replace both the cooling coil and condenser. It is my first time repairing aircon and I was shocked by the price quoted. May I know if this is the industry market place or am I overly paying over the odds? My drive is a Peugeot 308. Look forward to more inputs and sharing of the repair cost by fellow bros. Thanks
  4. As mentioned, here is a heads up for those of us intending to go back to AD to change out faulty condeser fan or the rubber boot to the driveshaft. Fan replacement 1 hr....rubber boot replacement?? 3 HRS!!!!!! total cost including GST $1117 No more AD repairs for me...
  5. I've tried this with my car's air conditioner on a hot day. I tried to reroute the wiper water spray to cool the condenser/radiator The water cools the condenser and radiator off, which cools the car of course (temporarily). It also reduces the time required to cool the car. Especially effective when the car is moving. Wonder if there are simple water injection kits (for intercooler) for the aircon condenser? Thanks.
  6. Took a thorough look at my condenser today and realised that there's a lot of small pebbles and leaves stucked between the fins and some of the fins are out of shapes. I tried to use satay stick to pick out the pebbles, but too shiong liao lah ... How do you guys maintain it ?
