  1. This video of a Caucasian Foreign Talent cyclist dangerously cutting across four lanes of traffic was captured by an in-car dash cam on Wednesday morning during the peak hour traffic. The cyclist is seen cutting across all four lanes in front of several cars and causing a car to have to break before overtaking him. When the driver who took the video honked at the cyclist for his dangerous behaviour, instead of acknowledging it and being more careful, he stared at the driver and slowed down even further, blocking the driver's way. He even swerved in front of the car and forced the driver to have to slam breaks. In an interview with WanBao, the driver explained that the man also raised his voice and was provoking her. This incident happened along Ophir Road. See the video here:
  2. This poll is raised due to a few encounters with the same driver who was driving recklessly. I seriously am considering if i should report him. I met this grey honda city(i-dsi) on the road again. Changing lanes in heavy rain WITHOUT signals and no checking of blind spots at >90km/h, BKE towards Woodlands. The issue is not whether he should suffer a penalty for reckless driving. The objective is to gather socially accepted opinions on attitude towards such drivers. I have seen fellow bros kanna a lot of lagi dangerous drivers whom after losing a century sprint, purposely e-brake in front of you. Did you guys actually report those guys?
  3. I was stuck behind a slow moving lorry at Tampines Road, just after turning in from Tampinese Ave 10. Those who are familar with that road knows, it's single lane two way traffic, which means not supposed to overtake. But the prospect of being stuck behind a lorry moving at less than 40km/h for that whole stretch was too much to bear, after checking there's no oncoming traffic, I floored the gas pedal on 2nd gear and went to the opposite lane to overtake the lorry. Wifey was with me, and I guess I scared the sh&t out of her I was just able to make it back to the correct lane just when a Swift was on the way towards me. Hope I didn't cause him any alarm... if I did... thousands apologies. Also thousands apologies to the lorry uncle.... don't know what got into me... Anyway, next time I'll avoid that road if possible, it's not meant for the impatient.
  4. Due to the increase in fuel prices, even airlines now tighten their belts on fuel usage. source: http://news.asiaone.com/News/AsiaOne%2BNew...0423-61315.html --------------- Authorities expressed concern that some of the incidents may be prompted by fuel-saving measures. -AFP Wed, Apr 23, 2008 AFP WASHINGTON, US - A REVIEW by federal authorities has revealed a sharp increase in planes, particularly from Continental Airlines, flying into the New York area with so little fuel that they demand an emergency landing. In a report on minimum and emergency fuel declarations into Newark airport last year, the US Department of Transportation (DOT) expressed concern that some of the incidents may be prompted by fuel-saving measures. 'We are concerned that fuel-saving measures may have contributed to the low fuel declarations because of two pilot bulletins issued by Continental Airlines in 2007,' the report said. In the notes to pilots, in February and October 2007, Continental expressed concern with the number of fuel stops pilots were making on flights from Europe into Newark, which is based in New Jersey, and urged a reduction. According to the DOT report, the airline's second bulletin 'further stated that adding fuel indiscriminately without critical thinking ultimately reduces profit sharing and possible pension funding.' The DOT expressed concern that 'these types of bulletins might put pressure on pilots to either not stop for fuel when needed or to carry insufficient amounts of fuel.' Emergency fuel declarations alert controllers on the ground that flight crews need priority in landing because their fuel levels are dangerously low. The majority of the minimum or emergency fuel declarations made into Newark last year - some 66 per cent - were on transatlantic flights, and Continental accounted for 64 per cent, or 96 of the 151 total incidents, the report said. By comparison, 72 such incidents were recorded at Newark's airport in 2006 and 44 in 2005. No similar trends have been noted at other US airports. The report cited the case of a Continental flight from Barcelona in which pilots made minimum fuel declarations to Newark 23 times in 2007. Continental Airlines issued a statement assuring that Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) rules were not violated, and that 'safety was not compromised in any of the situations' evaluated by DOT. 'Neither the DOT nor anyone else has suggested that Continental Airlines has contravened any regulations in its aircraft fuelling procedures,' company spokesman Dave Messing said in a statement. 'Continental uses FAA-approved flight planning programs to ensure that every flight has more than enough fuel to reach its destination,' he said, adding that 'none of the flights studied had less than a 45-minute reserve on board when they landed.' The review, which was prompted by Senator Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey, found the majority of flights making the emergency declarations came from Europe and involved twin-engine Boeing 757s, which were not originally planned for transatlantic services. 'We found that minimum and emergency fuel declarations had increased on flights into the Newark area,' DOT inspector general Calvin Scovell wrote in a letter to Lautenberg. 'However, there were no instances where aircraft landed with fuel levels below those required by the FAA.' Mr Messing said all of Continental's Boeing 757s have been fitted with 'winglets, which increase their fuel efficiency by approximately five percent,' and that the airline was the first to make such modifications to that aircraft type. -- AFP
  5. This CB Black 1.8l CIVIC really makes my blood boil last night! SGH 8**7 This incident started at the T-junction of Loyang Ave near Hendon Camp, around 10:30pm last night. I've just finished my dinner with a female colleague at Changi Village, traveling along Loyang Ave towards the direction to Loyang Flyover, to send my colleague home. --------------towards --------------Hendon Camp -----------------^ -----------------| | _______________| |______________ ---------------------------------- towards-------------| me------taxi Loyang flyover-------| Verna---Civic ___________________________________ At the traffic light junction as described above, I accelerated forward as usual. Seeing that I was trying to get ahead, I believe the Verna also floored the accelerator as I heard his motor rev-ing really loud. I was gaining ground after a couple of secs. Then the Verna gave up and began to slow down. Strangely, a split sec later, the Civic made an abrupt swerve to follow right behind me. He high-beamed me once and then began to tail-gate me VERY VERY CLOSELY!!!! I was already going at a very high speed! When the left was clear, this joker then swerved abruptly to the left and paced me on the left. The driver was chinese and there was a girl with him and his window was down (aircon off?). I really think he's trying to show-off to his girl friend. He then accelerated forward and swerved right in front of me!!!!!!! A few secs later, he swerved to the left again, then he slowed down a little so that he was pacing me on the left again. This time he laughed and using hand gestures, beckoned me to accelerate! WHAT A SHOWOFF!!!!!!!! Seeing how idiotic and crazy he is, I eased the accelerator and let him off. Anyway, the area's always monitored by the police, so it's not wise to play along this road. This was between me and the Verna! WTF has it got to do with you, bl@@dy showoff Civic!!! CB!!!!!! WHAT's the glory in beating my 1.6l with a 1.8l AND WITH THE AIRCON OFF SOMEMORE!!!!!!! SO MOROONIC! Pardon me... Just letting off some steam.
