5. According to Autocar, Lamborghini chief Stephan Winkelmann has embarked on a world tour to showcase the Murcielago-replacement to selected clients - a model Lamborghini has still not yet officially named. "We've allowed the dealers to select which customers are invited instead of getting involved directly. They know who they need to invite because, in some cases, these are people they have been dealing with for many years," Winkelmann told Autocar. The next flagship Lamborghini model, possibly to be called the Aventador, will be lightweight in construction, featuring a carbon-fiber monocoque chassis. It will come with a new 6.5 liter V12 producing 515 kW (700 PS) and 690 Nm of torque. Lamborghini also has a new gearbox for this lineup-topping model. A 7-speed single clutch gearbox called the ISR (Independent Shifting Rods) transmission. The new gearbox features exceptionally quick shift times (50 percent quicker than a double-clutch gearbox) by means of the independent shifting rods. 0 to 100 km/h on the model will be 2.9 seconds and top speed should be around 350 km/h (217 mph). The Murcielago-replacing Lamborghini is expected to debut at the Geneva auto show next March. Source: Autocar

7. Fernando Alonso enjoyed a "morale booster" of a Monaco Grand Prix that culminated in another on-track furore involving Michael Schumacher. After starting from the pit lane following a crash in final practice that wrecked his Ferrari's chassis and prevented him taking part in qualifying, Alonso finished a remarkable sixth. That was due to a stunning strategy that saw him pit at the end of lap one following the first of four safety car periods, in this case a 180mph shunt in the tunnel involving Williams' Nico Hulkenberg. The Spaniard then produced four stunning overtaking manoeuvres out of the tunnel and into the chicane on Lotus' Heikki Kovalainen and Jarno Trulli, as well as Virgin Racing duo Bruno Senna and Lucas di Grassi. But then at the final corner of the last lap, Alonso appeared to have fallen asleep and given up sixth as Schumacher passed him on the inside after the safety car had ended its fourth outing. However, the race stewards, including 1996 world champion Damon Hill, declared Schumacher's move illegal and added 20 seconds to the 41-year-old's time, dropping him from sixth to 12th. Mercedes are appealing and the original result may yet stand, but a happy Alonso said: "This result is a morale booster. "To start from the pit lane and finish sixth is way more than we could have expected. "Although it was a difficult Sunday for me, much of the credit for the result goes to the team. "After working hard to re-build the car for the race, they chose an aggressive strategy, and to finish it without problems is the result of a super job." Alonso maintains he was told by the team there would be no overtaking once the final safety car returned to the pits as he had considered a move on Lewis Hamilton, who was fifth in his McLaren. But Schumacher insists his team informed him he could race, a view endorsed by team principal Ross Brawn and has resulted in an appeal. "We believed the track had gone green and the race was not finishing under a safety car when the regulations would have applied," said Brawn. "The reason for the safety car had been removed. The FIA announced 'safety car in this lap' early on lap 78, and the track had been declared clear by race control. "This was further endorsed when the marshals showed green flags and lights after safety car line one (in front of the entrance to the garages). "On previous occasions when it has been necessary to complete a race under a safety car full course yellows are maintained, as in Melbourne last year. "On the last lap, we therefore advised our drivers they should race to the line and Michael made his move on Fernando for sixth place." It was four years ago in Monaco that Schumacher was demoted to the back of the grid after feigning an accident in qualifying, in doing so blocking Alonso from claiming pole position.

11. Kudos to the Foreign workers for stopping this a$$hole from leaving http://newpaper.asia1.com.sg/news/story/0,4136,152351,00.html? TEEN TAKES SHIRT OFF AND TRIES TO FLEE [*]Teen goes wild when driver tells him to move to back [*]He punches driver in eye [*]Driver grabs his shirtBy Celine Lim January 04, 2008 ? IT was a simple request to move towards the back of the bus. Despite his injury, Mr Edward held the youth's arm to prevent him from getting away. Pictures: SHIN MIN DAILY NEWS But that was all it took to anger a teenager, who ended up punching a SMRT bus captain in the face. This incident on New Year's Day is the most recent of three assaults on bus captains in the past week. The drama that started on board bus service 961 played out before the eyes of some residents of a Bukit Timah condominium on Tuesday. A ninth-storey resident, who wanted to be known only as Mrs Ong, 39, said her dinner preparations were disrupted at 7.40pm by loud shouting. She looked out of her window and saw more than 20 passengers alighting from a bus that had stopped, in the process of pulling out of the bus bay. The housewife said: 'There was a commotion at the bus stop. Five or six foreign workers had formed a ring around a boy to stop him from leaving.' She said the workers left when the bus captain alighted from his vehicle. Thinking the drama was over, Mrs Ong returned to her dinner. But that was when the confrontation escalated into blows. An SMRT spokesman said the bus captain was 'injured in the eye' from punches thrown by the youth. A police spokesman said the victim, a man in his early 30s, was later sent to the National University Hospital (NUH) with facial injuries. The bus captain, who wanted to be known only as Mr Edward, told Shin Min Daily News that he had held the youth's arm to prevent him from leaving. Quick as lightning, the teen swung his fist at the driver three times and hit him before breaking free from the latter's grasp. 'After the teen shook me off, I managed to grab his T-shirt, but he slipped it off and tried to leave,' Mr Edward said. The problem began when the youth and a female friend stood too close to the rear door, preventing it from closing. When the captain asked them to move towards the rear, the boy got angry. VERBAL ABUSE Mr Edward said: 'He started shouting vulgarities at me. He then walked up and asked if I was not happy with him. 'I asked him to calm down or I'd call the police to handle the matter.' When the youth continued his verbal abuse, the driver called the police on his handphone. The teen then alighted from the bus, but was prevented from leaving by the foreign workers. Mrs Ong said she heard shouting again a few minutes after the workers had walked away. 'The bus captain had quite a big build and was taller than the teen, who looked about 18 or 19 years old. But the teen was very aggressive. He acted like a hooligan.' She said when the shirtless teen walked away from the bus stop, the captain followed him and pushed his head. 'It was quite dangerous as they were pushing each other on the left lane of the road.' The teen then hailed a taxi but the cabby refused to drive off after Mr Edward related what had happened. The bus captain and teen then walked back to the bus stop. After the police and paramedics arrived soon after, Mrs Ong saw the youth being taken away in a police car. The police said investigations are ongoing. Two SBS Transit bus captains were also assaulted in the past week. Ms Tammy Tan, director of corporate communications, SBS Transit, said the assailants in both cases appeared to be drunk. She said a passenger boarded SBS Transit service 240 at Boon Lay Way 'reeking of alcohol' last Friday at 7.35pm. The man ignored bus captain Woo Chee Wha's requests to pay up at first, but did so eventually. However, a few bus stops later, the man alighted from the rear door. He then got on the bus again from the front entrance and, without any warning, punched Mr Woo. Three other passengers immediately went to the captain's aid and stopped the man from fleeing. The police arrived soon after, and an ambulance took Mr Woo to the NUH where he was given outpatient treatment for a 'swollen, bruised eye'. He is on six days' medical leave. Ms Tan said: 'We know that there are many good Samaritans out there who have tried to stop such abuse. We thank them for their help. 'We continue to seek the assistance of all commuters to report such abuses to the police should they witness any.' She said assaults on bus captains have nearly doubled from 14 cases in 2006 to 26 cases in 2007. Bus captains have been 'slapped, punched and even kicked', she noted. 'Such brutish behaviour is inexcusable... since it is causing hurt to people who are just doing their job.' In an incident last Saturday at 4.40pm, a young man was 'creating a racket' on board SBS Transit service 58, said Ms Tan. Bus captain Tommy Yong asked the operations control centre for help as the passenger 'appeared drunk'. But before the traffic inspector could arrive, the passenger had punched Mr Yong's nose, which started to bleed profusely. By then, all the passengers had alighted. A call was made to the police. An ambulance took the bus captain to Changi General Hospital. He suffered a fractured nose and requires specialist medical follow-up treatment. Ms Tan said SBS Transit will not hesitate to 'take action against... assailants where appropriate'. She said: 'We... are dismayed at what some commuters have done to our bus captains, particularly during the festive season... 'The only saving grace is that the number of cases dropped in the second half of 2007 after we launched the ‘Stop Bus Captain Assaults' campaign in June.' The assault cases decreased from 18 in the first six months to eight in the second half of the year.

13. This CB Black 1.8l CIVIC really makes my blood boil last night! SGH 8**7 This incident started at the T-junction of Loyang Ave near Hendon Camp, around 10:30pm last night. I've just finished my dinner with a female colleague at Changi Village, traveling along Loyang Ave towards the direction to Loyang Flyover, to send my colleague home. --------------towards --------------Hendon Camp -----------------^ -----------------| | _______________| |______________ ---------------------------------- towards-------------| me------taxi Loyang flyover-------| Verna---Civic ___________________________________ At the traffic light junction as described above, I accelerated forward as usual. Seeing that I was trying to get ahead, I believe the Verna also floored the accelerator as I heard his motor rev-ing really loud. I was gaining ground after a couple of secs. Then the Verna gave up and began to slow down. Strangely, a split sec later, the Civic made an abrupt swerve to follow right behind me. He high-beamed me once and then began to tail-gate me VERY VERY CLOSELY!!!! I was already going at a very high speed! When the left was clear, this joker then swerved abruptly to the left and paced me on the left. The driver was chinese and there was a girl with him and his window was down (aircon off?). I really think he's trying to show-off to his girl friend. He then accelerated forward and swerved right in front of me!!!!!!! A few secs later, he swerved to the left again, then he slowed down a little so that he was pacing me on the left again. This time he laughed and using hand gestures, beckoned me to accelerate! WHAT A SHOWOFF!!!!!!!! Seeing how idiotic and crazy he is, I eased the accelerator and let him off. Anyway, the area's always monitored by the police, so it's not wise to play along this road. This was between me and the Verna! WTF has it got to do with you, bl@@dy showoff Civic!!! CB!!!!!! WHAT's the glory in beating my 1.6l with a 1.8l AND WITH THE AIRCON OFF SOMEMORE!!!!!!! SO MOROONIC! Pardon me... Just letting off some steam.
14. A 30-year-old engineer says he does not feel comfortable while his wife finds it unacceptable whenever they spot this young couple pottering around their Tampines flat with their underwear showing. The STOMPer took this video at about 9pm last night (16 Sept). 'They were cooking in the kitchen," he told STOMP this morning (17 Sept). "They do this all the time. In the bedroom, they walk around like this with their underwear showing. They have curtains but sometimes did not draw the curtains. "I don't usually look out of the window but for the past six months, during the few times I looked out, they are walking around the flat like this. "If we can see this, it means other residents can also see this. "For their own sakes, they should put on pants or cover up, especially when flats are within spitting distance of each other," the STOMPer said. STOMP has adjusted the speed of the video and put it on slow motion. Got video somemore http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/viewPost5468.aspx#

17. No. 1 for Aveo and also Optra: The sissy horn that comes with the car. I have talked to all the people who brought their cars for servicing, the horn becomes softer and softer as time goes by. Soon there will be no sound! I suspect that it could be the lack of relay. Contrary to what most people say, relays don't make horns louder. They protect horns from being spoilt electrically. I see a MO for Stebel Magnum TM/2 coming up .
