I have a question: Why do so many of you guys like to go JB during ”long weekends” when all the extra day or two does is give you more time to sit in a jam? Not judging, just feel like I’d turn back after the first hour. This guy had to turn back no matter how long he waited though. What happened? Two Nissan Qashqais thought they could cheat the system and decided to use the bus/goods vehicle lane to get a shorter queue in SG during Labour Day. However, an officer caught on to this and made them leave the lane. This meant they would need to U-turn and go all the way back to the beginning of the queue, costing them who knows how much time. I can feel the drivers in the other lane going “serves you right”... Look at how the officer just shoos them away too. I think everyone agrees that we hate people who treat our public roads like their grandfather's road... Not saying we justify the road rage, or any middle fingers, or license-plate ripping or throwing... 🤪 (if you know, you know!), but we do understand the anger some feel when having to share the driving space with others who are sibei inconsiderate! Recently, in Eunos Crescent, a Honda Vezel decided to play punk in the neighbourhood--- not only did they beat a red light, they performed an illegal U-turn as well! Furthermore, this was with other cars on the road, including one it was coming head-to-head with, and a pedestrian in the near vicinity. According to the Singapore Traffic Police, the penalty for failing to conform to traffic signals is a fine of $400 for light vehicles, $500 for heavy vehicles, along with 12 demerit points for the errant driver. The penalty for making an illegal U-turn is a fine of $70. Wow, imagine all the gas you could buy with that money! The dashcam of a fellow driver captured everything. At first, everything seems normal, just a quiet night in the streets of the East... Hey, wait a minute! Did that Vezel just beat the red light? Whoa! That's a violation! Oh man... There's another car there! Siau or what?? Is he doing what we think he's doing? Oh boy, here comes the U-turn... Dangerous? Inconsiderate? Both! Man, I cannot believe what I just saw. Needless to say, this driver has gathered the ire of many a netizen in the comment section of the Facebook page the incriminating video was posted on: This commentator has a sense of humour! Haha. Whereas some made some observations and some detective work which they subsequently shared with everyone... No comment here. We do not discriminate against PHVs at mycarforum OK. Hm? 9 out of 10 of what? Could this netizen be possibly referring to Honda Vezel drivers..? Well, again, this is a statement we can neither confirm nor deny... Lastly, there was an interesting comment that we sighted: Huh, is that so! Well, well, well. I think we can all agree though: what the Vezel driver did was definitely not right, nor happily received! The verdict is... Yes, it may have been in the wee hours of morning. Not a lot of cars then, nor many pedestrians. But the Vezel still shouldn't have done that. Traffic rules exist and are put into place for a reason. It was super dangerous because of the presence of other road users, such as the oncoming car and the lone pedestrian, yet more vulnerable due to them not being in any vehicle of sorts. Wouldn't you feel guilty if your rashness were to cause injuries to others or even... the loss of a life? That's not your call to make, man. Only God's. Don't play play hor, please. While we can only pray that everyone around us sticks to the rules, we should also abide by them ourselves... and always stay vigilant too. Take care on the roads, readers! A certain camcar driver finds himself on the receiving end of an angsty display after honking at a Toyota Corolla for making an illegal U-turn. The entirety of this short clip accurately shows how fragile some drivers' egos can be. The video starts with the camcar driver travelling down Punggol Field, right behind a grey Toyota Corolla. The vehicle travels between the last and middle lane, with the driver suddenly staying in the middle lane as both vehicles approach the traffic junction. Presuming that the Corolla would be going straight, the camcar driver tries to make his right turn - only to have the grey car cut him off as the driver attempts to perform an illegal U-turn. Confused, the camcar driver pressed his horn just as he stops in time to avoid a collision. This upsets the other driver, who wildly waves his arm out of his window. However, he doesn't stop there as he rolls down his window, gets out of his car and proceeds to angrily gesture and justify his U-turn. All I can say is that has to be the most small d*@! energy thing I have seen this whole year. Illegal U-turns in Singapore While some netizens have commented that there could have been a U-turn sign, our research says otherwise. Upon entering the location into Google Maps, we see that the entire stretch that both vehicles were on did not have any 'U-turn ahead' signs. According to the Road Traffic Rules, While some drivers tend to make a large U-turn in order to avoid curb rash on their rims, it is highly discouraged as this might result in a collision with oncoming vehicles on the right-turning lane. Drivers found guilty of making an unauthorised U-turn will face a fine of up to $150.
