Scirocco speed demon zig-zags between vehicles on PIE

Here's a video uploaded by SG Road Vigilante showing a speeding Volkswagen Scirocco zig-zagging along PIE, which also reminds me of another infamous incident caused by a speeding Kia Cerato last weekend.

This happened along the Upper Bukit Timah Exit with another unrecognisable car seemingly chasing closely behind him.

Putting other road users in danger

The Scirocco driver then channeled his inner Alonso to manoeuvre between a tipper truck and a silver Van, overtaking both vehicles in one go. Although i have to admit that this was a well executed move, this act of weaving in and out of traffic puts other road users in danger.

Reckless or dangerous driving

Many drivers with common sense would already know this, but i'd just like to remind everyone that anyone driving a motor vehicle recklessly, or at a speed or manner which is dangerous to the public, is guilty of an offence.

Netizens on Youtube has some comments to say about this:

CNY is coming. So please ladies and gentlemen, do drive safe.

Looks like his MIL was in the car behind chasing him.

Good switcharoo and he lost her.

It's quite well executed as no other vehicles jam braked or swerved to avoid it.

Even if reported to TP, the only outcome will be failure to use turn signal. Either a courtesy letter reminder or $100 fine 😂

If these racers are my friends especially the one driving the VW, I am gonna ask him what prize he won for winning the race. 1st prize TOTO ticket or just some stupid act because of his ego.

MIL was in the back seat, and he could shake her off no matter how fast he drove.

Thought there was an infamous VW Sirocco previously too...

And no, the way the vehicles were doing, it is not just a simple offense of lane-change without signaling. It will be dangerous driving + all applicable rules compounded together...

I am pretty sure VW is speeding but the move is well executed as noone, including the VW had to brake.

Better than the many drivers out there (usually law abiding) who due to their kayu skills caused all those accidents.  Slow drivers who suka suka brake are a dime a dozen on my roads.

Haiz. Sometimes ask myself, what is worse. This type of higher speed driving, or goondu driving below speed limit not paying attention, looking at mobile phone and driving a car on underinflated or botak tyres?

Yes yes, both are jialat but focus by regulators/media is only on one.

  • I never knew Monster Trucks were so popular here

Although it appeared to be selling out fast back when my friend shared the link to the Monster Jam Singapore event some months ago, I could never expect just how popular the event turned out to be until the day itself. You see, originating in the USA, Monster Trucks aren't really an international phenomenon, unlike F1 or other forms of motorsports. Even someone like me, who's very interested in cars, doesn't really know much about these massive machines. And yet, on the day of the even

In life, there is no pleasure without pain

Before anything else, let me assure you that this is not about BDSM (bondage, discipline, sadism, masochism). Like many of my posts, this is an observation about life. More specifically, the duality of pain and pleasure that exists within it. Let's consider the analogy of light and dark: A room seems bright because the darkness subdued. Yet without the presence of darkness, how do we perceive the brightness of the light? Similarly, we cannot savour the sweetness of pleasure without the

Your next action film recommendation: Battle Los Angeles

I’ve always held a keen interest in the armies of the world, the wars that raged, and the weapons used. Therefore, I usually appreciate a movie (preferably an action film) if there’s an army element and lots and lots of bullets involved. Well, Battle Los Angeles (2011) doesn’t disappoint. With explosive battles and intense drama, you find yourself rooting for a group of resilient Marines tasked with defending Los Angeles from an alien invasion force. And yes, it’s on Netflix (for now), and

How are we already in June?

During lunch with my mother a couple of weeks back over yong tau foo, I was asked about my opinion on the latest NDP song. And of course, as expected of any chronically insular millennial, my reaction was: “Huh? There’s a new NDP song?” But of course there is. And I say this not to disparage the wonderful songwriters and musicians that provide an anthem to remember the nation’s birthday by annually, but to knock into my own mind the harsh reality: We’re already in mid-June.  It fe
