I weigh them to verify their weight is indeed as spec. Important cos weight saving is always the main reason i change fr stock rims. And fake rims will likely be heavier than real. Stock was 10kg and new is 7kg which is quite substantial.

Some of your questions are outside the scope of my application like weight distribution inner and outer circumf so i cannot comment. I can only comment base on overall weight of wheel fr change in rim but same tire. 15% reduction in weight estimated to give fuel saving less than 5% if any and acceleration in general less than what can be felt as i dont do timing.

Ride quality improvement can be felt.

Totally agreed.

I tested my drive last weekend with the new rims.

beside the gain in acceleration, can see the on board FC monitor dropped faster and improved.

from usual 10-12/100km to 8-9/100km. same driving style, almost same routes.

The most important is ride quality improvement!

Just to share my thoughts when I decided not to buy lightweight alu nuts. Was thinking of getting those Rays ones. My thoughts base on google articles, forums and not verified scientifically.

- They are easier to be damaged from overtightening. This is especially true in most workshops here that do not use proper torque wrench. To be safe I will have to ensure proper tools and methods used everytime any of my wheel are going to be dismantled.

- Weight saving of the nuts is minimal to have any effect on performance. From many forums of racecar owners whom said they don't feel any effects. I remember i did some calculations and the overall weight saved is less than 0.5kg while I was reducing 12kg from change of rims. The nuts are installed near the nucleus of the wheel and not the critical outer perimeter. (Not all unsprung weights are the same).

- Hence it would only be for looks. I decided the disadvantages are much more critical and hence stick to cheap old steel nuts.

Agreed, must use the proper torque wrench and no air gun for the nuts.

how much ah?

Stamford having 20% off. $200 - 20% = $160

Sorry guys need to hijack this thread as a newbie here and cant create new thread.

Can anyone advise on the trade in value I should expect for a new 225/55-17 wheels package which I intend to swop for bigger rims package in workshop? Went to one and was told $400 which I think is relatively low.

19.2kg now for rim/tyre combi which is a 0.75kg reduction at each axle. hope it helps in FC.

very happy now. these rims clear my BBK without any spacers required, and still have lots of clearance left.

I was looking at 57 too. But decided to bite the bullet to get the VR G25. One time pain and "leak saliva" Everyday.
