Hi,

Try change you radiator cap to 1.3Bar........... and see what happen!!!!

This will help to decrease the pressure.. [gossip][thumbsup]

Oh & just ensure that your radiator cap is 0.9 bar which is standard for jap cars.

Bro,

The Cap is universal,,, just look at the tip of the CAP the black rubber part,if yours is POINTED then get a pointed one, if its FLAT then get a flat one lor....

Hope this will help, if, next time you intend to change to a 1.3 or 2 bar cap....

[thumbsup]

Ok update, brought the car to my usual mech today, he too said there was a slight leak on my radiator. Paid $30 to get my spare radiator+fan swapped in and the car seems ok now, though it is an extremely hot day, I didnt see an increase in temp all the way home. Now just have to monitor I guess, hope that all is fine now [thumbsup]

So you recommend I try use a 1.1 or 1.3 bar radiator cap? Using one would mean that more pressure would be put on my cooling system rite? In my old car, I wonder if that is wise? [confused]

simon's mech simply bypass the temp switch

========================

Short cut way for a lazy mech. Too troublesome to trouble shoot all the possibilities why it overheats. [thumbsdown]

then u shd train to be a mech..do ur own repair

====================================

I like to do this for fun not a living.

If I had to do it day in day out, I prob very sian. [dizzy]

hmm...quite strange that the pressure test would be so destructive.. [sweatdrop]

====================

That's why old cars more difficult to repair.

Must b very careful. Only experienced & older mech usually do a good job on older cars.

They know many tricks to solve problems. Younger mech usually scratch head only.

Very lucky the cooland didnt spray on to you. That wud have been very painful lesson learnt.

Always check everything again b4 u start the engine & close the hood.

Even after I do my normal oil, water etc etc checks, I make sure I put everything back & tighten all that need to b tightened b4 I close the hood.
