These are expensive and they don't really work on every car. Americans at BITOG already discussed about it. Usually works on Toyotas but so far no reports on Hyundais yet. Didn't go to well with Hondas.

Not that expensive, in fact much cheaper than Denso Iridium. Has been running on my trajet for 3months....you can forget other plugs.....

Well the problem with the multiprong design is that it inhibits flow in and out of the critical spark area because only one fires at a time in any case.

 

Selection of materials is should also not be based on performance but on the ignition system as well. For example wasted spark systems should not use single platinum or iridium point electrodes. Because they fire backwards (wasted spark), they wil cause premature erosion of the electrode. Double platinium plugs are recommended for such a system to maintain life.

 

Then there is temperature. Temperature is not a plug's friend. CNG systems got to use colder plugs. Also if the tip is too sharp/thin, it will be glowing hot. There will be a hot spot in the combustion chamber.

 

All these point to one thing. Inability to tolerate ignition advances well. Of course you can solve this by using high octane petrol. Hmmm....spend more money so that you can spend more money.
