0W-20? Wow...

What car do you drive?

It's a bit thin.

Newer Gen Japanese engine uses this.

Even newer BMW engine is using 0w-20

I was surprised too but since its agent and under warranty, just let them do it. Driving a Honda CRV

They use bottles? I thought with shell they buy in barrels and dispense it to the engine via pipes and pumps.

Many still have the mind set that modern engine still need to use 5W40 or even 5W50.

I think in barrels only 5W40.

Previously when I was force to use Shell engine oil at AD using 5W30 also from bottles.

My go to engine oil is Motul 8100 5W-30 or the castrol edge titanium 5W30.

I believe a good engine oil is the best protection you can give for your car.

This one don't have.

Cannot just see the wt and the brand of the oil. Alot of oil out there say is fully synthetic, but that is just marketing term. Must learn to read the API standards and the accrediation also.

Use the above link to cross-reference the respective standard.

When the EO is relatively new, it wouldn’t feel any/much different. The real test comes after 5000km and especially with prolong driving in start-stop conditions. I’m close to 9000km on current Motul 8100 xcess and it feels about the same as when I first changed it. Value for money since I got a few bottles from Lynlex previously (6x5L bottles for 4 oil change) and I’ve used 8100 xcess for my last 3 OC.

I think could just treat SHU synthetic oil as mineral oil and needs to change at every 5000km.  Anything smooth after 5000km is a bonus.

I see the latest API SP being sold on the market already.

I used to be skeptical about SHU cos when I was driving my previous Honda 20 years ago, Kah Motor used SHU for its servicing.  I found SHU a bit rough and also didnt last long.

When Kah Motor used the latest SHU on my current Honda, it feels a lot smoother than before.  So I don't mind using it for now.

Nice, I think it’s the only AD that use 20wt oil.

Maybe the engine itself has been improved after 20 years.....😄

nowadays turbocharged cars are very refined le. 0W20 wt engine oil is okay.

Last time when I am driving my company van, my favourite 0w20 oil is FK Massimo. Really can feel the car become "lighter"
