All Services...... thumbsup.gif

My last brake flush was done at Autobacs.....

First, the technician "highlight" to me that my brake reservoir cover stated "DOT 3", and I'm getting from Autobacs the "DOT 4" fluid. I tried to educate the technician that DOT 3 and DOT 4 are compatible, no problem.....

Later they "highlight" to me that flushing brake system may damage the system and cause leak cos my car old.dizzy.gif I assured them to go ahead. Until today nothing bad happen...

After witness the method which they do flushing is very basic, meaning one person pumping the brake pedal and another technician collecting the old brake fluid from around the 4 tyres area....only collected <300ml, which I think still got alot of old brake fluid inside the system...shakehead.gif Don't think I will go back for the same service again which cost (if I remember correctly) $35 for labour only.thumbsdown.gif

I think at least Stamford Tyre is better cos they used vacuum system to extract the old brake fluid.

Autobacs is the No1 name in Japan , the local company is apparently not keeping with the good name - bleeding brake systems using leg power is only applicable to cars before the ABS era. With such low productivity how can they make money. My guess is as good as yours, the system is not fully free from the old brake fluid and foreign matters.

They should use either a pressure bleeder or a vacuum/ air powered brake bleeder with an automatic refiller.

Not sure about the price difference. The metal surfaces will have to be be thoroughly wash and clean before paint spraying or else the new paint work will just go to waste.

pressure bleeder not that good to use. How i know? Cause i used it before. Made by motive products. supposed to be one of the well known brands. difficult to get a good seal over the reservior cap and sometimes the brake fluid spills out. More work to clean up... Sigh.. Went back to the vacuum method. using a mity-vac.

Yes , thats correct. Finding the correct adaptors for Asian car master brake cylinders is a problem with European or US make pressure bleeders. For some ABS systems, high pressure will only slow down the bleeding process.

MityVac is the #1 in this field for a very long time. But over the years, few makers have managed to come up with more innovative designs and better priced vacuum tester cum bleeder.

Yes. DOT 3, DOT 4 and DOT 5.1 are compatible.

DOT 5 is using different base material, hence not compatible with the others.
