well said bro. its unfortunate for many buyers that they stop "thinking" after looking at the price, affordable loan schedule and spec list ... its so called a "good case" study to see how many buy China brands knowing that China cars are still very much suspect at this stage.

In fact, i think the chinese had a better start compared to the koreans years ago..it wont surprise me to see their cars being as good as korean cars a few years down the road..

Hyundai was in the same shoes as China made cars, when the Pony and Stellar were launched in the 80s.

Similar scenario for the Kia Sephia.

It is not the car but the after sales support from the authorised distributor that matters most.

It is also important to buy a car that sells in volume so that spare parts are easily available.

When u buy 1 of those cars, it wil come with a special promotion package of 2 years free towing service.

hahaha instead of promoting how good Geely is... the agent will keep telling the buyer how efficient the towing services are.

SE: "Dont worry friend, even during CNY, ur car break down in Sungei Gedong, we'll still be there"

Buyer: [wave]

If any car were to stall in the middle of the road, very likely the drivers would be cursing at their cars... be it a Beemer or Geely. Maybe he just ran out of gas?

Ran out of gas? if really so, THATS SO UNLUCKY!!!!

but i doubt so cos 200metres down the road there's a shell station. =)

hey but i'm sure i saw the Geely's hazard lights. they are working perfectly fine.

can not lah,

Singaporean have not been rich enough to only buy Jap and Ang mok car lah, this why Korean, Malaysia, Thialand even China cars all can come in, normally these cars target to those developing conutries [thumbsdown] , unfortunately Singapore car ownerships level only same as a developing conutry, you have to accept the reality [:/]

FYI, Hyundai is popular in US as well... [;)]

Basically, with the cost of a car shifting from ownership

(more COEs) to usage (more ERPs), it would be a good move for the ADs to go into budget cars segment.

However for the budget consious folks, reliability is of upmost importance to achieve low running costs. For the AD to survive in the budget cars category, they would have to sell by the volume. (=>look at Borneo)

Unfortunatley Geely does NOT EQUAL to Toyota.

Another big question mark is how committed are the AD to the selling the cars.

Just look at Czech Auto.

Capturing the Skoda brand is a good move.

Unfortunately, there is almost nil strategies and marketing for this marque. After sales service is totally non-existent.

We could only hope that those who have bought the Chinese cars are going to be happy with their purchase.

I know there lots of Geely and QQ owners comparing their cars to Toyota and Honda, what a delusional bunch

==============================

Which parts of their cars r they comparing???

[laugh][laugh][laugh]

What? QQ owner comapring their ride with Honda & Toyota? Comparing with Honda Club motocycle?

What are they comparing? How fast & how often their QQ will breakdown in ECP? [laugh]

They should also compared with BMW, Lexus, Audi, Merc.....

===============================

Thats why I also thinking. Maybe they were comparing the sound of the horn or interior lights? [laugh][laugh][laugh]

Anything more tech or important & I can't see any comparison.

the rims and tyres ... [laugh]

====================

Cannot b. These r quite important & I can bet their rims & tyres also suck.

I won't dare ever buy rims or tyres that r made in China. The safety of me & my family is too important.

Hi there,

I think the car has not been doing a thorough test.Which any others did before

selling to the market.Or the manufacturer just want to have a quick $$ before everything

turn cold & tasteless.

So like that it's better for those China cars to STAY in China & never be exported at all. But then what I have read, even the Chinese don't want to buy China cars unless they r from reliable European or Japanese manufacturers & assembled in China only.

Purely 100% China cars, they also don't trust & who to know their own products the best??? [nod]

I don't think it's fair to compare the China companies with the Korean companies. Worlds apart. I wud trust from Korea but not from China.

And then they will steer the inexperienced buyer away from the relaibility & quality to "Look how cute it looks. And the radio can play MP3 even".

I think most buyers r 1st timers. [:p]
