Wah, China cars so fast got problems? Like that over the long run the car will become more expensive then Jap cars if u add in the repair/maintanance costs, plus all the added frustrations.

Hi bros,

i never like to criticize or flame rides from any country. i tend to be objective and feel that all brands should be given a chance to prove themselves.

But today... in boon lay way, i saw a stranded geely (SGP red plate) with its hazard light on and the driver talking loudly on his mobile phone at the roadside. I went there to offer help. the driver politely refused my aid and said this car is terrible. the engine just stalled suddenly on the road and he's waiting for a tow truck. it was ard 10pm.

Then, i went to have supper with my old friends. after an hour later, i drove back home and saw a geely being towed. this time, the location is far from where i 1st saw the stranded geely. I donno if its the same geely, but i shiver when my imagination ran wild that it could be another one.

I donno what to say. but thought that all should read this.

Pay peanuts and you get peanuts.

I know there lots of Geely and QQ owners comparing their cars to Toyota and Honda, what a delusional bunch [hur]

Err.. should be pay peanuts... get monkeys? the Geely is behaving like one already.... but a dead monkey.....

But of course, must be fair. don't compare to toyota and Honda... not realistic.

But should be fair to compare with Proton Saga, Lada, Elantra (1st Generation). So far don't hear any QQ or Geely owners complain handle or mirror drop out. So, still better than Lada.... [bigcry][laugh]

Right.

But it seems they are more concern towards their own pocket. Taking a cab or booking one for the next 10yrs may even come cheaper than owning one of these things man.

and they are not doing anyone a favor by selling these things.... causing breakdown (may even lead to accident) and cause jam (bookie and punters stop to look at car plate and bet how many Geely and QQ breakdown per day).....

Once upon a time, in the 1990s, somebody decided to sell LADA SAMARAs and it was like 30k new at the time, the same price as a 800cc Suzuki, but you get a 1.3 for that.

What happened to Lada?

I think the QQ makes sense here for those who upgrade for motorcycles, from a safety viewpoint. Reliability is another matter altogether.

The Geely I don't know....

Anyway, the reason Toyota etc made it bit was that in the early days, they were ECONOMICAL and RELIABLE - not comfy, refined, fast etc. HYUNDAI was cheap and crude in the early days but reliability was OK too - not as good as the Japs.

If these Chinese makes are UNRELIABLE, then I am sorry to say people will lose faith and not buy them. Only time will tell.

Hyundai was in the same shoes as China made cars, when the Pony and Stellar were launched in the 80s.

Similar scenario for the Kia Sephia.

It is not the car but the after sales support from the authorised distributor that matters most.

It is also important to buy a car that sells in volume so that spare parts are easily available.

To have these words out from the mouth of a newly owned Geely owner really puts a few point down on the brand itself [:|]

u pay bananas u get orang utans

Why save a few $k n buy garbage. For those who dont understand China enuf, when they do business, product quality, customer safety, reliability, after sales service are never their priority. Pls wake up guys, dnt buy CHINA cars...now.

Singaporean have not been rich enough to only buy Jap and Ang mok car lah, this why Korean, Malaysia, Thialand even China cars all can come in, normally these cars target to those developing conutries [thumbsdown] , unfortunately Singapore car ownerships level only same as a developing conutry, you have to accept the reality [:/]
