HI brother Tyrant13,

As I noticed in local parts spare retail shop like Ubi, Enuos and AV... most of them doesn't carries ELF engine oil... [confused]

Wondering where would I get them...! Me tried STI 10W-40, bought from Gaint (but now no more promotion) ... feels good! Wanted to get more for the coming oil change.

Please advise further... Don't tell me that I need to go Pandan Ave for cash purchase... [:(]

So when you buy the Engine Oil form this guy,

1) Did he show you ... he has the Authorized Letter to Sell Elf Engine Oil. Given by total Lubricant Singapore?

2) Did he give you a receipt with a Registered company? Letter head?

_________________________________

Say only, I also can say ,

as a consumer, I would like to have some assurance

I would like to buy from big reputable shops like AUTO bac. or Silent in Commonwealth. Or I go to Mobil Petrol Station directly.

Well do not blame me being careful in my purchases, because there are really lots of FAKE or Recycled OIL going on.

I do not mean to flame anyone, I am just asking for Justification of Authenticity.

This is the situation in the Engine Oil Industry. It is still Linger now... as people LOVE to have Cheap stuff. Well Imitation will prevails.

Well if the seller can produce this for my Assurance,

1) An Authorized Letter stating He is an Authroised Dealer,

2) If he has a Registered company with CASE trust.

3) A official receipt from His company.

I will get from him straight away, at his advertised price.

_____________________________

If his company is as big scale as Autobac, then I do not need the Authorised letter.

If small company , (I do not mean to be offensive, just some risk control) which can go burst, all small companies has the bigger risk to go burst in first 5 years generally.

Then the Authorized Letter will comes in Handy, I can make claim from the Lubricant company directly. If my car Engine got problem after using.

My Car is going to be kept for min 5 years.

Cheers

so...

where can i buy engine oil that comes with a cert?

i have never seen a cert being attached to any lube container in any supermarket, workshop or authorised dealer workshop for that matter.

my only certification is me. my car is smoother, running better, more fuel efficient, with oil bought from this 'uncertifed' guy.

ever occured to you that certs can also be fraudulent?

Dear Sir,

I am not trying to flame anyone, but if there is commercial transaction via forum I normally will ask for Justification of Authenticity.

Would you be able to produce your letter of Authroization stating that you are the authorized seller of Elf Engine oil Total Lubricant.

And produce a Receipt of purchase with a registered company heading.

Well, please do not blame me to be DIRECT and PRACTICAL, I do it for the Engine of my Car.

Please refer to the newspaper article to understand how I am feeling about the whole ENGINE oil issue.

Maybe Consumer rights is not that Strong in Singapore, well our authorities need to buck up so that we can be truly the first world country.

I am too use to the overseas consumer rights system.

Cheers

Well, if you are not comfortable with the source, then dun buy. You seems to get work up based on yr text in yr post, what for? Why become paranoid over possibility of fake oil? Relax a little... What makes u so sure commonwealth shop is good like wat u mentioned? Just bec they have 4 shop front? Bigger overheads than some smaller business that sells oil means good?

Dear Sir,

perhaps I am a little paranoid.

The best is still buy from Authorized Dealers,

Whether big or small , ultimately ... authorized dealer is still the best for me.

Thankx for your advice.

cheers
