The MapKing actually has a "please slow down" as one is over the speed-limit voice feature that is not available in the 6110.

You can set speed limit in 6110, once you hit the limit, it'll give you a little tinkle.

MapKing as the name suggest is the "King" of maps laugh.gif

Indeed Navtec who provide the maps has a long way to go. Many parts are not digitised. Such as all HDB blocks.

However, the speed limiter can be set in Route66. Settings> Navigation> Alarm Speed. U can have both visual or acoustic alarm. Alarm tone is just like choosing ring tone.

I have tried my friend's PDA running MAPKing, it seems that MAPKing has more details in the map, like block no., parks etc, almost every single sq inch of Singapore is digitised. But for Nokia 6110, condo name like Mandarin Garden when search show no results, many maps details are not incorporated and I understand that the SG map in 6110 is dated 2nd Quarter 2006. Wonder is there anyway to have the latest map as advanced as the MAPKing ones. Garmin Map is available for 6110

has anyone bought it?

any reviews?

Bought my Nokia 6110 last weekend. Tested the GPS function and observed the following:-

After turn on navigation, establish signal with the Satellite sometime take a long while. After the Satellite signal is received, it works like a Gem. There is built-in voice guided feature, can choose male/female voice etc. After the route is calculated, if one deviate from the "best" route, it will re-calculate route immediately, did not feel a lot of delay. When you are on the wrong direction, it will prompt you to make a roundabout at the earliest possible time. Still trying to figure out how to update the map if there is new revision, coz the map looks pretty plain even in 3D mode. The address database seems not as comprehensive as compare to those from mapking.

I would grade this Nokia 6110 Navigation an 7/10 for this phone with GPS feature.

how's yr new nokia 6110 ? is th GPS really so good ?

its true that mapking is better, but mapking can't be installed on the 6110 navigator, which means you'll need to get a gadget that can install mapking/malsing maps = buying new equipment

i'm sticking with 6110 cos' its got a phone integrated into it. :D

Dunno how my friend do or crack it but he managed to get a free copy of MapKing install in his Dopod 810D PDA and the monthly mapking SG maps updates can be downloaded for free @ "www.eastgear.com"
