20 is tracking channels. Tracking. Dun confuse with getting satelite fix.

The 6-10 satelite fix I think it's standard. Cos under status this is the display...see pic.

Yeah. I dun think they'll release.

I read what others mentioned in this thread. Found out many are new users. Best to aquire signal fast is to get to an open area. Dun do it indoors.

These are common things that u might encounter when using one.

1) Line of sight. (lol when someone mentioned cannot receive any signal in tunnel)

2) Tall buildings causes interference especially in Shenton way u'll experience GPS going haywire.

3) map updates are important cos a lot of changes in sg roads.

4) Bad weather? little interference

5) Slip roads and split road can be confusing which one to take.

Feel free to contribute.

[:)] And to add on, the route that are suggested, may not

be the shortest route (for my mobile), so if possible look thru the

list(directions) it will be using(roughly) and select another route to compare.

ps: [laugh] IF only we roughly know what routes we want to go by.. LOL

I dunno about the software in your phone.

FYI the software I'm using I can choose:

1) Recommended route (Prefered Highway, motorway, shortest route).

2) Prefered Motorway.

3) Shortest Route.

But I do agree sometimes it gives u the really stupid route to take especially the shortest route option.

Can your GPS simulate the route u'r taking btw?

Cos the software I'm using has simulation and can choose to avoid roads u dun wanna take ie. hear from radio some roads are jammed up or flooded.

Simulate?

hmm... [:|] i dun think so..

it only show me the list of the directions/road names.

i can only ask the device to re-route if i want to avoid the roads..

Anway i think its good to be use in SG, no matter what i wont be

too lost [laugh] BUT if i were to use my GPS to travel to M'sia etc,

Ohhh.. i better think twice

I see...

But it's ok. It certainly beats having to flip the street directory and drive at the same time. [dead]

I stay far away from these drivers. [laugh]

As for M'sia best go in a group for safety sake.
