Highwaycode Neutral Newbie August 13, 2007 Share August 13, 2007 Walau-eh! Think probably some Hydrogen gas bubbles got trapped inside the battery plates and blocked vent-hole. Just a thought.

Yeobh 4th Gear August 14, 2007 Share August 14, 2007 Looks like a localised electrical component short circuited - if it's a battery explosion yr ride bonnet will be seriously damaged and logically fire will follow with all the electrical cable isulation burnt. Apollo 1st Gear August 14, 2007 Share August 14, 2007 yup.. bleve.. breakup and build up of hydrogen gas combined with oxygen gas can b explosive
Apollo 1st Gear August 14, 2007 Share August 14, 2007 (edited) neber cover the battery top so the gas can escape properly, as there r small pin holes for gas to escape. in any case, i strongly recommend u quickly do an engine wash asap by a professional workshop so tat the corroding acids does not attack other parts of ur engine bay. or the liquid spread fr parts to parts. Zeus73 Neutral Newbie August 14, 2007 Share August 14, 2007 I encounter once before... On my slightly more than 1 year old KIA Sephia... Happened at night in HDB Carpark... Very loud... Stock battery... Zero mod on car... I think it's a MF battery... Cos no liquid flow out after the side of battery rip open... Best part is, car and battery just past 1 year... And battery only got one year warranty...

Watwheels Supersonic August 14, 2007 Share August 14, 2007 I dun think a bunch of capacitors in the z-stab can cause that. If that's the case u should stay away from your TV set cos inside also have a bunch of capacitors. It must be his wet batt dried up to cause the explosion.
