Copen...worth it?

Hey you know what ignore the naysayers and go with your heart. Sharing my point of view.

 

How many times have you lived your life based on satisfactory and getting the shiok feeling (sometimes you might regret later).

 

Isn't that what's life all about. I chose to buy Lancer Ex over Copen and its like settling for someone who loves you more than somemore whom you are crazy about.

 

I know i know, life isnt all about getting what you want.

 

Deep down in my heart i know i would be happier with a Copen.

 

1) Price vs engine cc should never been an issue. You are buying a lifestyle, you are building a persona. Know anything about personal branding? ($5 durian vs a $20 Mao Shan Wang)

 

2) Novelty cars are good investment. You have people more future buyers unlike mainstream cars like mine. (MX5 phenomenon)

 

3)60k a big risk? No. A matter of affordability and you must know you will be able to sell it easily to someone in future.

 

4)How tall are you? if you are 175cm onwards, you might feel claustrophobic. (Be mentally prepared)

Please dont flame me for not buying copen and asking people to buy.

Actually the Mar 08 one selling for $58k should be a good buy considering a new one costs $67k.

 

Provided he's in love with the copen.. like many said, it's a lifestyle car..

but its really a cheap japanese 2 seater, with automatic folding roof and a low road tax la.

actually in de 1st place he didn't tink of getting a copen.his mind was all abt wrx, integra, etc...all de "sports" cars.den i asked him to reconsider de financial commitment he will b in...he can afford it la...but being self employed...anything can happen.den i pointed out to him de copen...den from den on he got hooked.

I say this is a lifestyle car. I like to be in it if I want to seek for attention.

 

Go clubbing and it can attract a lots of dates. . For this unique attraction, value for $$ in its class.

 

Drive S class or BMW 3 series CC will definately get the babes.

Find it strange that many here says copen not worth the price, etc. Comparing Copen price to the price of the next cheapest 2-seater hardtop convertible, copen pricing seems very reasonable to me leh.

Tat's becos branding is very impt among singaporeans..Singaporeans believe only certain brands got 'licence' to price their product higher and those brands that is not in the list of brands that is deemed prestigious in SG will always have to price their product really low..

However, everytime I see this Copen at the basement carpark, I will try to peep thru' the window and imagine myself driving one.....

the only reason why i won't go for that is cos it's got ugly rims and it's an auto.

660cc, will be more fun with the stick shift (also the price IS on the slightly higher side *in relation to Copens*)

Copen is a nice little charger. Rated at 64hp, due to the kei car restriction. Use a chip n u could easily gain like 20 or more horsies without any additional upgrade. That's a lot of horses for a car that weights only 840kg.

 

Price is high if u compare it to a normal car but if u look around at all the convertibles, nothing comes close in terms of price to the copen. It's actually at least 10-20k cheaper.

well...if i tell him many reasons not to buy...i tink he wont.cos he heed my advise in de 1st place not to buy more expensive cars.

 

n abt de depreciation qn...nothing to do wif dis car.jus asking for my own knowledge.cos i knoe high depreciation is not gd...but how to know if its too high?...
