Hi guys, Was thinking of getting this ride to replace my 1 year old MR-S. What do you guys think of this car? Went to test drive it today at BHP. Found it not bad for it's performance but a bit tight for the interior. Only concern it's the spare parts availablity and servicing. Does anyone knows where can I purchase the spare parts for this car and which place is good to go for servicing for a car like this? Lastly, do any of you guys know any local Copen car forum or English Copen car forums? Doing a search on Google mostly gave me Tawian and Japanese car forums for Copen. This only English language one is the one from the UK but it quite outdated. Thanks to all for your kind responds. Hope I can meet up a few local Copen owners here in this fourm. Cheers!

Order books for the new Daihatsu Copen has been brim-filled with 4,000 orders - equivalent to just the sales target of six months. Two variants are on offer - a CVT automatic and a five-speed manual. 70 percent of buyers took up the former, with only 30 percent opting for the conventional stick shift. Under the hood of the new K-roadster is a 660cc turbocharged engine which produces 64bhp and 92Nm of torque. The new car keeps to its cutesy proportions and size, measuring 3,395mm in length, 1,475mm in width and standing at just 1,280mm. The best highlight of the new car has to be the customisable body panels, which allows owners to personalise a total of 11 parts on their own Copen, including the front hood, boot, front and rear bumpers, front and rear fenders, locker and fuel lid. It also comes with an electronically-operated two-piece folding hard top.

There are a lot of comments that the DIAHATSU COPEN looks like a tiny toy car. Some even call it too girly a car for a man to drive. I myself like small Kei cars, but wish there were more better looking models. (The new Daihatsu DX for example.) What do you guys think if the Copen was modded to GT model with a slope back ?

Twice...plated SGS with number 889 white Copen ignoring traffic lights order. Didint wait for green to appear and proceed on...not once but twice..clearly not a case that driver didnt know...clearly intentional. How I wish A TP would appear like magic but that is just my wishful hope...no video too other wise I will end up cycling into the drain with one hand filming with the other struggling to control my bycicle. Perhaps can do something about his modded loud exhaust...a tipoff. Opps did I let the cat outta the bag now that driver can do something abt it..Now how do I do the car search thingy b4 reporting this driver? I hv seen ppl do that here and post the "CV" of the car. Daihatsu showcased the new mini roadster model at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Sept. Looks really nice... I'd take it over the Copen any day... The 3 piece liquid crystal roof that folds into the boot is especially cool. Hope it make production fast. Oh yeah.... It's still a Kei car.. meaning 660cc Turbo. ------------------------------------------------ A future replacement for the Copen, perhaps? Daihatsu has created a concept called OFC-1 hinting very strongly at its next-generation mini-roadster. The three-piece glass roof, featuring a liquid-crystal sunroof, opens in less than 10 seconds and leaves enough boot space to accommodate a pair of overnight bags. It features 'a high-performance turbo engine', says Daihatsu, and a CVT gearbox with seven-speed sequential-shift mode and paddleshifts, yet excellent fuel economy is promised. Electronically controlled adaptive suspension and four-wheel disc brakes aid handling, safety and comfort, and the OFC-1 sits on 17" wheels with 165/50R sports tyres.

STOMPer Ng spotted this Singapore-registered car at a carpark in Kuala Lumpur and wonders if the owner is aware that the car is there. The STOMPer wrote: "While on a business trip two weeks back, I saw this Singapore-registered car that was parked at the Crowne Plaza Mutiara Hotel Carpark in KL. "From the looks of it, it seems that the car was parked there for more than a year since the road tax already expired on June 2009. And there was a thick layer of dust on the body of the car. Any Copen drivers out there? Any shops carries our accessories? I'm looking for bodykit, spoiler, and the aluminium plate at the exhaust area, and many other accessories. Cannot seemed to find it online, and Copen forum has yet to have another meet-up making me an unverified member still. Help and advice needed. Thanks! Regards

I've been scouring the interweb and haven't really been able to find an answer... Does anyone know what is the minimum octane level usable for the Daihatsu Copen? 95 or 98? Also as its a turbo (albeit a tiny 660cc), does that mean that I should stick to w50 engine oil? (urban driving only, no NSH). TIA.

Daihatsu has launched the 2011 model year version of its tiny Copen roadster in Japan. In order to keep buyers interested, Toyota's subsidiary enhanced the base trim level with additional standard features and introduced a new Ultimate S Edition that gets a restyled grille, dark colored 15-inch BBS alloys, a Momo steering wheel and gear lever, plus the option of full leather sport seats or a set of Recaro buckets draped in Alcantara. All versions of the 3.4-meter long Copen come with a power hardtop and a 660cc turbocharged engine producing 64HP at 6,000 rpm and 110Nm of peak torque at 3,200rpm. The engine is matched to either a four-speed automatic transmission or a five-speed manual gearbox.

Anyone considering this car? Think it looks much better than the standard copen, more importantly it's the accessories which come with it. Have a look at http://www.daihatsu.co.jp/showroom/lineup/...ation/index.htm This is the list of upgrades: - BBS 15 inch sports rims with lower profile tyres - Black Chrome plated grille - Clear crystal rear combi lamps - Clear lens lamps - Shiny black panels (looks much better than present plasticky looking one) - White Meters - Bilstein shock absorbers (a major upgrade needed. Heard that the normal version has a very rough ride especially when going fast) - RECARO Alcantara seats - MOMO Steering wheel And it comes in a new shiny purple color. :) Think Apricars is advertising this model every sat. Hey, Anyone has information on this new model of Copen ZZ for SG market? I am wondering how it drives. Is there anywhere to test drive one of the existing current model? I am thinking of getting the copen ZZ, 1.5l with turbo and wider body. At least still wont get smoked by sedan cars Any information available, appreciated. Thanks. I am not selling my ride, just getting another.
