I, a no brainer, wondered why it's called a robbery.

 

I checked up dictionary :

So maybe much will have to depend what he wrote in his note to the teller:

 

1. Give me $30K or I blow this bank up or something like that - consperemed robbery.  But what if he wrote

 

2. Please give me $30K to top up my COE bid or pay for someone medical expenses.....? What say you?

 

you shouldn't be checking common law or dictionary, but penal code of Singapore.

When he was later questioned by the Thai police, he demanded to meet a Canadian Embassy officer.

A senior official at the Canadian Embassy in Bangkok confirmed yesterday that the embassy is providing consular assistance to the suspect.

 

A spokesman for the High Commission of Canada in Singapore said it is aware that a Canadian citizen has been detained in Thailand.

 

The Singapore police are working with the Thai authorities to see whether the suspect can be released into Singapore's custody.

 

As of yesterday, the suspect remained in the custody of Thai authorities at an immigration detention centre in Bangkok.

 

The Thai police are expected to hold a press conference on the case today.

While in overseas conference, met up with some academic Indians from India.  

 

They say Indians will always do very well in overseas because in the environment of India, the indians have to worry about 101 things happening in their environment, example crime rates, extreme weather, education, gov't corruption, chaste systems, jobs, hygiene standards, difficult business systems, languages etc.  When the indians migrate to overseas, they only have to worry 3-4 things.and its peanuts to them.  They succeed very well in overseas 

 

Come to think of what they said to me, i realised we are the opposite of them.  And its not good for us.......  

There is no guarantee Canada will release him to us.

In that 4 hours, he could have changed his clothes, and sat on the toilet bowl (toilet has no CCTV) until he's ready to board the plane.  He can purposely wait until he's one of the last few passengers to board. and he just quickly walked to the boarding gate and go into plane without delay or queue.
