I think Jerome Wee is not on the MFM camp, and so won't be seeing SG map on MFM too soon.

 

That Jerome Wee had on a few occasions ignored PMs from contributors to ask him for unlock codes, and he never answered those threads directed at him due to such negligence. Seems to me that he is one of the culprits who had claimed the map his own.

I guess it is fair to pay some contribution to get a good map as there is nothing which is free in this world.

 

They really made a lot of effort in keeping the map updated so by paying some contribution to them is also fair and reasonable.

 

the keyword is consistency, either you declare you have to pay for maps or you give them 'free' when people contribute pois.

 

just answering donations is as good as conning people to contribute pois without getting a map.

If nothing is free, then nothing is free. Garmin didn't make a promise of free map. But people still pay for it just like they buy any product.

 

But msm say it's "free" when it is not exactly free.

 

There are 2 conditions:

1. Contribute 2 POIs or something

2. Depend on mapper's mood to give you key or not

 

If it depends on Jerome's mood to process the unlock key, then you might as well say you have to PAY.

 

How about other mappers? Don't they see their fellow JoH/SG mapper making money while they are not?

I'm sure they are looking at money with envy too.

well, a few posts in their forums already (if not removed already) tell me that there are people who oppose MSM's definition of 'free'.

in the end, i couldn't be bothered with trying their maps. How big can SG be man.
