Bufan Neutral Newbie November 14, 2008 Share November 14, 2008 Hello. It will depend on the extent of damage. Usually excess of $3000
Gary84 1st Gear November 14, 2008 Share November 14, 2008 bro...sory to hear abt the accident. Btw which insurance coy are u under? Excess wise it can be a basic 500 or even 1000.... There are also additional clauses set by your insurer i.e. Named/Unnamed driver, Young/Inexperienced Driver etc... For young/inexperienced, if you are under the age of 26 or your driving license less than 2yrs, then you are liable for tat extra excess...That can be up to $3500, i kid you not. And do remember you have to fulfil the 2 criterias in order to 'siam' that. Hope that helps...

Mzrmazda3 6th Gear November 15, 2008 Share November 15, 2008 (edited) Sis, check your insurance policy It should have stated out the excess amount but there are other clauses to take note of like what Bro Gary84 has mentioned If you have say 50% NCD, expect it to be reduced to 20%-30% in your next re-newal but you have opt for the NCD Protector then it would still remains at 50% but of course, the premium would be higher Edited November 15, 2008 by Mzrmazda3
Shull Turbocharged November 15, 2008 Share November 15, 2008 bro, check with you ah.. i was involved in a minor accident 1 mth ago..i kissed this lorry backside..when we came down to investigate, he got no visible damage but mine is quite bad.. the driver told me his lorry going to scrap in 6 mths time..so no point claiming insurance..end up, we exchange particulars, took some photos and go our own ways.. since law require us to report insurance, i reported the next day.. so will my NCD or premium be affected even if the driver did not claim against me? Iziz Clutched November 15, 2008 Share November 15, 2008 3k only if u hit certain criteria (AIG): 1) Young/inexperienced (2.5k more) 2) Elderly (2k more) But if u r the policy holder, these shld have been factored in ardi, so usually it shld be in e 500/1000 region. Turbonetics 2nd Gear November 15, 2008 Share November 15, 2008 alamak, you should write a simple black and white stating that the accident had been resolved privately without any 3rd party and both of you to sign. but if he did not report to claim, you should be safe. Shull Turbocharged November 15, 2008 Share November 15, 2008 but some says the insurance coy may temporary reduce NCD pending any claims..how true is that?
Thug Clutched November 15, 2008 Share November 15, 2008 should write a simple black and white stating that the accident had been resolved privately without any 3rd party and both of you to sign. Yess...this part is very important. If wan to settle outside the insurance, an agreement is a must. My bro-in-law just got his license and 2 months later he got into his 1st accident. BIL turning left in the filter lane, lorry kissed his backside when my BIL stop at the give way line. They agree settle outside. Upon seeing the bill lorry driver report say my BIL reverse in the filter left lane and bang into him. Now still court case. ↡ Advertisement
