On last weekend, drove my Exora to Genting Highland, experience the high hill driving. whenever feel she was "no power", press hard to acceralator, u can heard the "houling" sound from the engine and the power came in (>4-5RPM). [bounce1].

On my way back to Singapore, stop abt 45 mins at Air Keroh for a short break ( driver and ride) then continue the journey. when almost reach JB, suddenly there is no air came out from front seat air-con vent but can heard the wind blowing sound. 2nd and 3rd row air-con no problem, anyone know what happening?

Next day the air-con back to work, wield! [:/]

seems a bit funny...understand there should be only one blower supplying air to all vents...

not too sure man... just keep monitoring it- hopefully does not happen again.

cos even if you report to svcs dept, they just check socket connectings & present operation.

for intermittent fault thats the big headache

for long distance driving-say none stop for 2 or more hours--advisable to always set a/con temp switch to higher temp, so a/con compressor is able to cut-out more often to prevent a/con system from freezing up.

when this happens, a/con air becomes less cool or warm even...but when car is rested & a/con system defrozes-

you will then regain normal a/con operation.. dont know if this could be the cause- was your a/con temp switch set at the very lowest thru out your drive??....

Exora bros, just noticed this evening while driving

with headlight switch turned on, auto gear lever panel display-

P,R,N,D,3,2.1 lights up except "N" in green not lighted--

can help check if all of yours are the same.

if its the same, wonder why its like this- any reasons

Thks !

one word, "satisfy" with the performance. i guess it is common for all 1600 cc car going up to Genting Highland, i even over took one Camry along the way [laugh]

for Highway driving, car easily hit 110-140km, and most importantly, "stable" [rolleyes]

drive to Seng Kang this evening, when car started, Air-con no problem. halfway feel more cooler but half an hour later, no air came out from the vent liao.

two hour later on my way back, similar thing happen again. reach home , open up the front bonnet, notice the pipe was frozen ( despite the engine still hot, you still can see the pipe was frozen) [furious]

From other forumer said, may be the Themostat spoit, need to replace.

i will call the SC tomorrow to make arrangement to send in my ride to check, or just bring the ride to the SC to let them check , anyone experience if no appointment, SC reject to service your ride!!!!

Yes confirm thermosat faulty replaced foc now seem like working fine.

i think my ride having the same problem too  car make for the year 2009 have this common air-con problem. i hope they can fix mine too. [blush]

just drive in...if thermostat-they should be able to get it done on the spot.

unless they have to sent to a a/con contractor, then they will ask you to leave car there.

just came back from SC, took about 2 hours to fix the problem ( wanted to meet you tomorrow but the SC guys 2morrow fully book, bro Panhard help me to see whehter what he said is correct  because today cost me $20 for the E-license)

after their replace the thermostat, so far air-con wroking fine but do notice the pipe still have little water ( not ice like previously) around it, is this common??? [sweatdrop]

I was just thinking out loud....

Like what brother Panhard mentioned earlier, may be because the aircon is too efficient.

In Singapore, a lot of people tend to set the temp to the coldest and fan speed at low.

With our high humidity, a lot of condensation will take place in the evaporator fin and some may start to ice up.

when the ice get thicker, eventually the fin are all choke up and air cannot flow thru and thus less or no ice is coming out.

The symtom disappear the next day when all the ice melted.

The engineering department of Proton may have to do some study on this to improve this situation. It is common to have some minor hipcu for new model, that is why some people prefer to buy mid-life model where most technical hitches have been resolved.

Some suggestion for present user

- Set temperature to higher

- increase fan speed.

Just my thinking ....:), I not from Proton hor...haha

10w30 after 10k better,Now let thicker grade oil click with the parts first.Mineral pick up too slow. Can try semi-synthetic.

Brother, must check wether our local temperature suitable for 10w-30 oil or not first.

Better see what is written in the user manual. Any brother here can share.

condensation on the a/con pipes are normal-just dont let the system freeze up.

what you say is perfectly correct--the a/con system on the exora is extremely efficient--due to design of condenser

& fan size- so even at centre setting-a/con still good. this way can pro-long a/con system lifespan-esp. compressor.
