SGXora Clutched March 25, 2010 Share March 25, 2010 squeaky sound from brakes when first applied (cold condition) likely due to brake disc has moisture( overnight dew) but if loud squeaky sound under all braking conditions then could mean brakes showing signs of wearing out-- do check it!- is your mileage high? Hi bro, i agree with you, as i said, after a while, these sound gone. my current mileage is about 3800, should i change to Syntetic oil during 5K servicing?? Panhard 1st Gear March 25, 2010 Share March 25, 2010 Hi bro, i agree with you, as i said, after a while, these sound gone. my current mileage is about 3800, should i change to Syntetic oil during 5K servicing?? for me will continue to use the idemitsu eco (mineral oil) 10w30 at 5k & then only at 10k switch to the idemitsu eco (fully syn oil) 5w30 & there after, change every 10k with the syn oil-better but will be a bit more EX. better to change more regularly during 1st 10k as oil tends to gets dirty easily due to run-in. another thing which will do also is to do 1st change of auto gear oil at 10k instead of 20k as recommended by SC--also for same reason. cos the auto gearbox is an important component--always subjected to high temps on drives.. after the oil change on the auto gearbox can also notice better gear shifting too. Fussymi Neutral Newbie March 25, 2010 Share March 25, 2010 Hi Fussymi! when did this happen, i'am gng for the first 1K this friday.I'am also having the same fuel smell problem. Hi Human, it happens on and off while driving. Smell goes off after a while but still worry about kids health. However, if I stand outside the car to chat with someone while the car engine is on, the smell is strong. SC said "all the car are like that" but my old car doesn't smell so much  . What about yours?
GoodCar 4th Gear March 25, 2010 Share March 25, 2010 (edited) Saw this very nice H line Exora in Sun Plaza(Medan) yesterday. They call it Exora Supreme there. On top of standard item, it come with cruise control, front seat arm rest, Ceiling DVD, GPS etc. The best Exora I ever seen :) But than again, Toyota Innova Kijang is the top favor here....... The SE told me that the 1.6 L campro engine produce 125hp vs the 2L Innova VVTI engine of 127HP. Well, any brother here can confirm the 2L engine only produce 127 Hp? --/Just for curosity :) Edited March 25, 2010 by GoodCar
Fussymi Neutral Newbie March 25, 2010 Share March 25, 2010 may i suggest the next time when report the fault, refill the tank first then drive to the SC--this way they can detect the problem & make sure that it is recorded in your record file- keep a copy of it so in case, when the problem arise after warranty period you have something to say.... Each time when send the car to SC, they recorded the problem but always say NO PROBLEM. It's rather difficult to prove to them cos the smell doesn't always there, it's on and off thingy. It's rather difficult to prove to them cos the smell doesn't always there, it's on and off thingy. i can say this - it is an issue here in malaysia as far as the smell is concerned. the Exora Owners Club (EOC) here has managed to get a few sessions for its members to send their exoras to proton senior mechs and get that problem fixed. like i said before, the mechs will but some sponge @ form around the fuel port .... IF the SC in SG is putting that complaint as a NO PROBLEM .. i hope you guys will find the time to go the Proton Service Centre in Plentong JB ... the EOC had 2 private service sessions last week on issues such as the smell, front suspension 'tat'tak sound (bump stopper) , thermo amps (inconsistent air cond) and sub-harness (ground cable) .... Panhard 1st Gear March 26, 2010 Share March 26, 2010 IF the SC in SG is putting that complaint as a NO PROBLEM .. I think all exora owners must stand firm on this matter....if there is really a problem proton s'pore should check with factory & get it rectified asap--even for those who dont complain. ....SC should recall vehicles back . maybe we have to bring up this issue to the management soon! we dont want something to happen especially from a petrol issue.. safety should be no. 1 on the list. GoodCar 4th Gear March 26, 2010 Share March 26, 2010 One suggestion on the fuel smell problem. As a good operation practice Only refill until the pump auto car off, do not squeeze excess fuel into the fuel tank even you can put in some more. Some brother in MCF has shared before that this may wet soak the carbon filter in the recirculation system......soory that I cannot recall the exact detail :) May be some proton sifu here can share. D325 Neutral Newbie March 26, 2010 Share March 26, 2010 the reason for that to happen is because the air con is too cold. So cold that the water that's suppose to flow out of you car freezes in front of the blower. usually it will condense on the filter of the aircon dats y... but when you switch off your engine, it'll melt and go back to normal... i was told that you'll have to monitor this because if this prolongs, it spoils the condenser... too cold... also... fungus can grow on the filter... so just take note... =] ↡ Advertisement
