Brother, must check wether our local temperature suitable for 10w-30 oil or not first.

Better see what is written in the user manual. Any brother here can share.

Confirmed! the proton manual for exora recommends 10w30 engine oil with at least API of SJ or better.....

bro, if the water drips remains on the outside (means on the door sill side) its actually alright!

as long as it does not get into the carpet area..if you notice below the doors, there are actually drain holes below-

these are to release any water that flows thru the door glass thus preventing a mini fish tank inside your door!

i would say those who actually purchased the exora to be a smart consumer.

with the attractive and car package, it's really a catch.

just for your info, i hope that owners are aware that malaysia service centre do honor the sg warranty, i not sure if you could opt for extended warranty.

and apply the daring card, which actually give you a 10% discount for parts and service.

as an owner of proton, my ride is 4 yrs old and i still going to malaysia service centre to service.

each time, cost me only rm100 or lesser and with 6 mths warranty of parts replaced.

good rite? [laugh]

i did provide the address of the service centre in jb in malaysia talk thread, located at plentong.

call 3S plentong, you probably can google it.

but need to fix an appointment, that service centre is really popular, handle close to 80 cars a day.

very good and customer service.

well, what you could do is have a record with sg s.c, then move to jb also.

so once it ended, you can continue with jb s.c

hope this help

oh...its normal?...but my previous car don hv leh...urs also hv ar? but y only on 1 door?

if you notice carefully its dripping from the door weatherstrip-as the door opens it drops onto sill.

the door weatherstrip seals any water from entering the carpet- furthermore as further protection there is another weatherstrip at the door opening. just monitor it a few more times..

just bought idemitsu eco 4L 10w30 oil @ S$32.10 for my 1st 1k service tomorrow....

cant wait to feel the difference after oil change. my mileage already 1,100k.

dont know if its my mind but these few days drive dont feel the drag so much.

another option for those who drive up north often is

Petronas mach 5, 10w30 @ RM$49.00 3L, RM$19.00 1L -its about S$30.00 +-

These are reasonably good oils- suitable for change at 5k.

after 10k then can switch to better syn oils..

all the above problems nothing much lah......

better to have the AC freeze than the whole engine overheat right???

and obviously the doors will be wet when there's rain, just so long the interior windows, carpets are not wet,

you'll be fine...

relax...

bro, try to take it out for a drive when ever you can- especially to clock in the 1st 1k.

cos the car does feel lighter on acceleration & not so draggy. FC has indeed improved

heres my report on my 1st 1k svcs at leng kee SC this morning....

use own oil, bill today $12+ for oil filter & drain plug washer. labour FOC.

their supplied oil used is Mobil-15w40(mineral) or 5w50(syn) my advice-

bring your own oil [lipsrsealed]

no complains to report except when engage "R" at times has a light "tat" sound.

--technician lubricated gear linkage. seems fine for now. [rolleyes]

service centre a little small for my liking- but has hot beverage maker & light music to compensate.

there are 3 SA, Rashid attended to me, seems like he is the more friendly & approachable one

between the 3. [:)]

a little disappointed to be informed that after each service no body wash- claims

at leng kee no such facilities.... at least no unsightly finger print/oil stains on steering wheel

or seat & floor carpet

went into service bay to look at my car's undercarriage to check on spare tyre compartment but

was told to leave-out of bounds to customers-but managed to see something b4 leaving

overall rating of experience at SC-- 7/10

the drive from SC to home seems some what quieter, acceleration also feels lighter,

more willing to rev-just filled petrol & will monitor FC compared to when I first got car.
