Heartbreakid 6th Gear March 23, 2010 Share March 23, 2010 (edited) 1 - no need for that ... for VERY COLD early morning, after 30 secs on the engine, do quick 10-secs revs on 3k,4k,5k and 6k. -- I think it is best not to rev the car in cool morning. After start-up, we can drive off normally, that's no issue. Be it any engine, not related to whether factory already run-in or not, when an engine is parked over night, oil will set in the sump, some parts of the engine will be least lubricated. So if one rev even just a few seconds after start up, that will cause wear and tear, because optimum lubrication has yet to achieve. And oil is thick when cool, so only when an engine is warmed up, that's when oil is more fluid, parts with tight tolerance will be better lubricated. Panhard 1st Gear March 23, 2010 Share March 23, 2010 there used to be a "cold start switch" which increases the rpm(1.5k-2.9k) at cold start--- maybe manufacturers have realised this is not a good way to warm-up the engine cos it causes premature wear on engine parts. so maybe thats why this temp lamp is used now. warm up at normal rpm speeds.... Kurty Supercharged March 24, 2010 Share March 24, 2010 escalate this matter to their manager, charles if i not wrong. though i not driving an exora but what happen to me was during the 3rd year 2 months of my ride, savvy. it had a major failures - ignition coil which cost around SGD$400 - speedometer sensor, cost around $300 - steering oil leakage, a replacement will cost around $300 i was quite upset and unhappy as only 2 mth of ownership, all these happen. lucky, i had an agreement with the car dealer, they gave me a warranty of 6mths upon purchase and agreed to cover for my ignition coil and sensor replacement. as for the steering oil pressure leakage, i had to foot myself. lucky, i wrote to Charles complaining about the quality of service and their rides. in the end, he managed to waive off but still had to foot a sum of $80 as their labour fee. SGXora Clutched March 24, 2010 Share March 24, 2010 check with all Exorien, everytime first start the engine (morning) and move the car, everytime go thru the Hump (about 100M away from parking lot), can heard the "klok"sound and "Squeaky" sound when applied brake. but this only happen for a short period, after that when go thru second hump (another 100m), no more sound appear, is this normal???
