Do u believe the mileage

Possible but very rare. My civic now 3 years 10 months clock only 25,000km. I hardly used for the past 2 years caused working in town area and drive at night/weekends only.

anyone knows how is the tweaking of odometer done ? what type of equipment is used to do that ? is it available anywhere ? just curious.

Call KM and check the servicing logs with them. They should at least have the first few servicing records with them. From there you can verify if the car has indeed passed the 7000km mark or not. Might want to give them the VIN to confirm that the records are showing its the same vehicle.

 

Aside, when I sold my 3yo Civic, it had 135,000kms.

 

My 4 years and 3 months old FD2 which I am still using is 59500 km as of today. It takes about 9 to 10 months for me to clock 10000 km, as a result I used to receive msg from KM reminding me to go back for servicing which is due on 6 months interval. One reason for my low mileage is probably I hardly drive up to Malaysia.

Even i drive up to Msia, my mileage is is as low as urs.

Just to share some impt info.LTA will not take any action against those shady car dealers because they are only in charge of registering and deregistering of vehicles,as explained by the LTA officer.

 

The officer also explained it is a civil suit or small claim tribunal case due to its nature,and there is nothing that LTA can do.Anyone able to shre your views on this?

high mileage doesn't mean the car sure got problem.. low mileage also warranty the car to be problem free.. it's all depends how the car is driven and taken care of..

the dealers definitely do it. i sold my 3.5yo civic to a dealer, mileage was 86k when handed over. but when ad was posted on sgcarmart it was 50+k
