Turbocharged

I do agree on the water weight loss part and is universally accepted to be true.

Recalling what ii have posted here on Nov 2010, i started out 86kg and 5 weeks later, down to 79kg. Pants size also reduced from 36 to 34. How much is water weight loss typically? I suppose 3 to 5 kg. In terms of physical activities, i do not change anything at all. Currently i am settling at 68kg size 29.

Its actually more than that. I used to weigh 85kg plus minus in my late 20s and now I weigh about 92kg plus minus. My waistline remains the same as before but overall skin is much thinner (i.e leaner). That's with just adjusting my dietary habits and also timing my meals correctly. None of the fancy Atkins diet, high carb diet etc etc. And I do indulge in chips, fast food and the likes once in a while.

as a guide line, i eat half a duck for lunch while CBS eats the whole ducky....and thats his appetizer

Talking about duck, that's what I ate yesterday cos didn't have time to cook.

1 roast duck including the neck (best part!), a whole box of earthbound organic spinach, then 1 can of coconut cream (Ayam green colour big can, not the small one) with a can of ginko nuts and some toasted dessicated coconut for dessert. Yum...

Took more than 1 hour to eat, but damn full after that.

Today woke up, still damn full. Went to run 10 x 100m sprints, and still felt full after that. Now dinner time already, and finally getting a bit hungry.

Shall cook up some salmon and broccoli now...

Hi guys, interesting thread here.

I am also trying to lose weight and have gone down from 90 to 77kg since i started in Dec. Wish to hit aroundd 70kg. I am keen on trying low carb so can anyone suggest some easy low carb breakfast options in Singapore? Lunch and dinner is pretty ok but I have the hardest time trying to fing low carb options for breakfast! Btw, I lost weight mainly by running everyday and avoiding fried and oily foods. So its gonna be quite hard for me to adapt to some of the high fats diet that bros here seem to be on. haha

One more of my favourites - prawns. Put them in the fridge (not freeze section). Next morning, heat up frying pan with water to a boil. Throw the prawns in. Fast and easy. No need seasoning.

If you worry about the 'sai'. prepare the prawns the night before - slit along the spine, wash the internals out. Usually I will have 10 -15 medium sized ones.

Better switch to AYAM brand. Kara has stablisers and emulsifying agents

AYAM brand canned. I have the runs if taking the tetra pack ones. The contents are different. Check past threads.

Interesting show I saw on Discovery Science.

We have microbes in our gut.. the interesting points raised are that they influence the amount of calories we can extract from food. Some get more because of these microbes are more efficient or over active, some get less. In famines, the people with these more active microbes can mean the difference between life and death. But in times of plenty, they will get fat..

Again its more than just FAT vs CARBS. there is so much more that influneces why some do well on high carb diets and some do not.

The program did not go into how one can nurture these "good" microbes or which microb is good. Its all a balance as well as good microbes can turn bad in the absence of other microbes.

I am still learning the whole healty living is not just micro-nutrients of the vitamin/mineral type, its also the source of calories mainly from fats. And now, as I have always known but science is just starting to research more, microbes.

The question now is, some people may be genetically and microbially made up so that they can process carbs better.

And we all know how gluten can destroy gut linings and affect microbes. Yet those that can process carbs better may also have more resistance to gluten?

Another allegation the program made was that we have altered our microbial make up in our bodies through use of anti-biotics. The extension is that these changes has caused us to be susceptible to asthma, allergies and more illnesses.

I just want to expand the spectrum of our discussion to see what else we can learn.
