Sometimes I feel must standardize the package ,whatever the USA or Australians are getting, keep it standard,0.9% interest is low but then the car price and loan amount so high, and we are getting the bare minimum.pathetic leh the package

Don't worry. If you think that the Kia K5 can dwaft both the new BMW 5-Series and E-Class, you're dead wrong.

To me, it really looks like in in real life like in the pictures.

I love both the Citroen C5 1.6THP and K5. Both are handsome cars. The C5 is now competitively priced because its COE is Cat A so you pay 20K less for the COE. Its engine is a gem cos its the same unit used in the Peugeot RCZ and Mini Cooper but tuned differently.

But it's still expensive a price to pay for a Citroen.

I suppose the C5 is simply too quirky for majority to stomach.

i agree, my gf's integra gives about 8km/l

my current accord gives 12km/l with extra slow move off from traffic lights + super duper hot cause no aircon

otherwise it barely gives 10km/l

on the other hand my friend's avante gives 15km/l with aircon every now and then and 14km/l with aircon on all the way

lousy comparision for FC.

avante is 1.6cc

integra and accord is 2.0CC

FYI 1.8 Toyota wish can get a return of 16km/ltr

Axio can get 16~18km/ltr

I agree the Citroen is quirky and not universally acceptable even though its handsome. The K5 is has more universal appeal.

Just checked the Kia Australia website. They are getting the 200bhp GDi model but no prices stated but using the Sorento selling price of $36K as a guide, the K5 2.4GDi should still cost below $40K.

Why refer to Australia's website?

But should the 2.4GDI make it to Singapore, I suppose the car price would be another $10k more than the 2.0L 165bhp? So it'll be at $142,999.

And the 2.0T GDI 275bhp meant to replace the V6 models make it here, any takers for $162,999?

There are 5 models in US. LX M/T, LX A/T, EX, EX Turbo, SX. Bare minimum will be LX M/T model. S'pore version is a mixture of LX A/T, EX , EX Turbo & SX.

The following are SX standard features which are included locally

18" rims

paddle shifters

alloy pedals

LED tailight

Unique grill

Our local version has bumpers and side skirts from the SX too. Look carefully at the pics and you can see the difference. All versions in the US have the normal bumpers which is rounded at the bottom edges whereas our local version is fitted with the flared ones from the SX Turbo. And the boot lip spoiler is from the SX Turbo too.

If 124k is expensive for a citroen, what about the 118k for the K5? Basically, the French has a longer history of car manufacturing. Pardon me for saying, Kia used to be referred as ' budget' car.

The C5 with a Cat A COE is cheaper to buy and in the sense, represent better value. That is just my personal opinion. I also think that the K5 is a beautiful car. But if I were to chose between C5 and K5, it will be without a doubt the C5. Too bad the model with the signature hydractive III suspension cost 20k more.

Fair enough. The 1.6Turbo 156bhp engine sure attracts more customers to the Citroen brand. But don't forget, the C5 suffers badly in depreciation.

As for the Kia K5, the latest price is $132,999. More than the base C5. But theoretically, these 2 cars shouldn't be compared with each other, since one is a 1.6T and the other a 2.0L.

You should be comparing other 1.6T cars instead.

both car can be compare side by side as they are basically serving the same segment of ppl.

Same class of cars yes. Can compare.

But brand wise and everything, not a fair comparison.

base on your analogy. the only car you can compare with K5 is only K5. then what is there to compare? [shakehead]

Compare 2.0L to 2.0L.

Or compare Price for Price. See what you can get for the budget you've set aside. Do your own shopping and comparison. Then buy the car you think it's best for you/ your family.

compare power to power is also a consideration.

C5 fall in to same power band as K5. hence its comparable. some more similar size -_-

C5 and K5 can be compare side by side,.

Power and performance wise, the C5 beats the Kia K5, because of the 1.6Turbo engine.

the 1.6T produces 156bhp and 240Nm and does 0-100kph in 9.8s.

The K5 2.0 produces 165bhp and 198Nm and does 0-100kph in 10.9s.

How can they be compared then???

If you only compare car with similar spec. Then what is there to compare??

Anyway, this just proof that K5 is not good enough compare to C5 which offer similar and more at lower cost.

There u have it. Conclusion of the compare between C5 and K5
