Caddilac Neutral Newbie March 25, 2011 Share March 25, 2011 haha, peeked at the k5 today at the main showroom it's very big for something of this price($130k).. comparable to a 5 series visually. very tempted to buy.. but dont think a kia is worth this amt of money as compared to a conti la.. and current k5 no stock.. end june then arriving new k5 with sunroof. hope next bid cat b drop even more hehe. K5 is a bit overprice... The i45 2.4 also 130k but then Optima has more features... 130k also can get you a Mondeo/C5/508... Many people also think that conti is more valuable than Japanese or Korean but what make them think so? Branding? Or perception? Unless you always travel at NS highway then only will you need the top-end high speed stability and very high level of sound insulation from the Conti... And the maintenance and spare parts of the Conti is not going to cost the same as the Korean... The Korean always offer a lot of things at low price!! Actually it is not the door that is so heavy... The biggest trick is the 3-step door design of the Conti car which make the door opening much more solid feeling.. The Camry has no natural competitor from Mazda. Stupid. KVLP. Mazda 6 isn't competing in the same segment as the Camry. Fat_slayer 4th Gear March 25, 2011 Share March 25, 2011 I went for a test drive in the K5 yesterday at Ubi. Well, the car is really highly spec and the version that they are selling currently have the cooling seats and panoramic roof. The front part of the roof is a sunroof which can be opened whereas the rear half is a moonroof. Very cool! However, I m a bit disappointed with the pickup of the car as it feels sluggish compared to the C5 which I had test drove last. This is where I think the Korean should improve especially with the 1.6 turbo engines coming from the contis which can do a sub 10 for 0-100. The K5 also feels a bit noisier too. For me I will buy the K5 over any other Japanese make now. No need to see or test drive others. But I will definitely chose the C5 over the K5 even if I can only afford the base model which was selling at 125k before discount. It's because I still have the old thinking that the Korea cars are budget whereas conti are more 'atas'. Pls forgive me for that. Furthermore, the next delivery will be august. Oh, i think it will be arriving next month or smth the fluence's doors has "quite abit of thump" btw, the 508 should be more expensive than the basic c5. even at pre-launch special price, the 508 is already 1k more than the c5.
