Eviltrap 2nd Gear September 9, 2012 Share September 9, 2012 Skoda Superb advertised for $149,900 this weekend. I believe OMV is at least 25k, up to 28k. Golf GTI engine, twin charge, can flash to 280bhp, 350nm. Feels and handles like a luxury conti. Only downside is the badge. So why get the Kia? From the suggestions here, I went to test drive both the K5 and Superb today. Was tempted to change, but eventually, the cost of owning the car was too much for me to swallow. But I had fun testing them! For the K5, the engine and transmission were smoother due to the 6-speed transmission. Looks-wise is a definite winner. Car seat-wise, my current Magentis was softer, hence my wife didn't feel as comfortable with the K5. With the central console tilted slightly to the driver, everything was almost perfect. Except the price. For the Superb, engine was powerful. But to be honest, due to the short drive, couldn't feel that much different from the K5. Looks-wise, the Superb is no match for the K5. But the ride was smooth though. Better than my Magentis definitely. The car seats were hard. My wife and I didn't quite like the hard seats. But we were both impressed with the pull up sun shade for the rear passenger windows and the boot space.

I went to test the superb today too. went there with great enthusiasm and my interest slowly fizzled out because of the SE.. he was quiet during the test drive.. never bother to explain anything. and the superb's saving grace was the rear legroom. power wise... ok its quite fast. but the overall drive was boring.. when I accelerated to test its overtaking abilities.. the SE said I'm driving too fast.. kao.. conclusion.. good price and features, average drive (speed is not everything), lousy SE. next.
Watwheels Supersonic September 9, 2012 Share September 9, 2012 how come no one talk about Ford .. 240hp , 336nm ... Bcoz same same, low omv high selling price. Why bother? Though it has one of the best handling, you hardly see any Modeos on the road.

Steptronic Supercharged September 10, 2012 Share September 10, 2012 K5 has ventilation seats!! Are they really ventilated? I remember K5's seats were "heated" and since it is not suitable for our country, they removed that function as well. Following is the link for K5 features. http://www.kiaglobal.com/sg/en/MODELS/Cars...rview/index.htm
