Mits_jc 5th Gear June 16, 2016 Share June 16, 2016 Upz this thread. Looking to change my tyres. Current profile 195/50/15, Dunlop LM703. Is it possible to change it to 195/55/15 without changing rim? I changed from 185/55/15 to 195/50/15, negligible differences in speedometer reading, so yes it's fine to change without changing rims.
Hamburger Hypersonic June 16, 2016 Share June 16, 2016 (edited) The original specifications is there for a reason. Why the need to change it unnecessarily. You sure you better than the engineers of the make? Edited June 16, 2016 by Hamburger
Optramagnum 6th Gear June 16, 2016 Share June 16, 2016 (edited) Upz this thread. Looking to change my tyres. Current profile 195/50/15, Dunlop LM703. Is it possible to change it to 195/55/15 without changing rim? Bro, increasing the width might cause the front tires to rub against your wheel wells, esp when full lock. Of course, it's depending your car model. Better drive to tyre shop to seek their advice. Edited June 16, 2016 by Optramagnum

Chucky2007 Turbocharged December 14, 2016 Share December 14, 2016 (edited) how's the CSC5? i'm also looking for new tyres. main concern would be comfort and wear(durability) CSC5 SUV has excellent wet grip.. fairly quiet until around 12 to 14k mileage then have road noise.. treadwear 420 should last 40-50k technically but I think that if one pumps them at 250kpa cold.. my first set of CSC5 I pump 250, current set I pump 230, can see that 250kpa have a lot of tread left. Sidewall is soft so it's lacking on cornering feedback if one drive aggressively around corners. I like it as it's quite comfortable though. I don't mind using CSC5 but I think should try another tyre models Edited December 14, 2016 by Chucky2007

Victor68 Turbocharged December 15, 2016 Share December 15, 2016 I also agree the manufacturer would be the best person to know what work best for their car model. However, to keep cost low, the tyres may have been replaced with cheaper options for the different market. I would usually go for tyre that will be quieter but not compromise on safety on wet road. Of course cost too. haha

Good cornering capability due to stiff sidewall and good grip. But have to compromise comfort. Quite loud as well. ↡ Advertisement
