I just did mine recently also. Seems like 1k km is just some visual checks and clean up inside and outside the car, it did take me about 3 hours. Reached about 9 and got the car at 12. Went to queensway shopping for laksa and walked around. 

 

Some folks brought their laptop to just see show while waiting

 

3 hours is reasonable.

 

I assume you did yours at Leng Kee. I'll be doing mine at Penjuru.

I'll wait with my laptop :)

Took me from 5pm to 10pm to do 1k servicing. 5k took me 2 to 3hr without car wash. However they damaged my car cam. So next day had to return to fix it. That took me half day again with car wash.

 

I'm surprised that they are able to do jobs in the evening.

Which service center was this?

Most likely start ur engine to see if got defective indicators on the dashboard. Check ur current tyre air pressure & the spare one behind. Then finish with a simple wash (still dripping water on collection). No engine bay checks eg. Coolant topUp or oil change.

Now the night service is no longer available. Upon the new penjuru starts they ceased the time at night.

This has a metal piece in the rubber, so it can be bent to fit the curve of the door - see photo.

Different model. The model I bought has no metal inside.

Can share this again. Is it ok to apply on other car? Thanks

For the bottom part, ur car rear door must have a thin piece of metal point front door, so that the rubber can hold. You check my post the first pic is before install, and second pic after install.

For the top part, I think it is more common coz it stick to the B pillar between two doors.

Been busy and just installed the upper part seal ... works fine.

 

Just align the side to our stock rear door flimsy one without hard backing unlike my forester .. hope the photos are clear enuff and can always drop by my place to see or even test drive on its effectiveness.

 

No complain so far since closing door is not affected unlike those tiong ones.

Recall your sharing. So the rubber stick from highest of the door frame till end of the glass level. What is the "3mm" you mentioned?

Received and installed the door seal from Japan ... alleviated say 70% of the wind noise from behind front passenger and driver even with audio system switched off.

While the typical 2 layer rubber door seals are the same, the mazda design us less elaborate in letting wind into door void in the first place .. pls see photos where metal ledge does not all up all the way.

 

Btw, did not change eo at 1k service since indeed almost sgd200 and will do so at 5k then.

 

The engine of my mazda 2.0 exrcutive remains vocal and still the biggest source of noise especially with much less tyre noise with new michelin primacy 4 ST but less rough sounding at 1500km travelled.

 

Still deliberating if to proceed with 2nd installation of Dr. Artex Red Wind ... this time on the chassis rubber insulation .. it seems that it is not flat against the chassis and seems not useful for such design.

No glue used .. the rubber seal is stiff enuff to be held in place by itself and also a bit by the stock seal and center seal.

 

The other end is also not with any glue and it just stays in place beyond the metal.

I see the mark in first pic. So when we paste, we move the seal off center towards rear door 3mm? The goal is to let rear door stock rubber overlay when closing door, right?
