Well, this forum is called ‘Mazda 6’ so I guess the abbreviations here are easily understood. Outside this forum, yeah M6 is a Beemer. Context is different but we all love our cars and our abbreviations

Mazda 6 is Mazda 6, why call M6?

M6 is BMW.

Agree, people started calling it M6 for convenience in this thread. It started as Mz6 then some shortened it further to M6. Edited by andrewyewkc

Hi

Getting my Mazda6 standard model in mid-Jan. Wondering whether itâs a good idea to swap the new 17â wheel to my current BMW M5 18â wheel as I am trading in my 5-series.

M5 stock wheel size is 18"? Hahhahaha

Someone told me he bought an M6. I congratulated him on getting a fine car from the blue and white roundel stable.

Then he told me it is actually a Mazda 6.

A couple of the Mazda 3 owners were upset when someone pointed tt Mazda 3 is not M3, and they shldnt label it that way in forum. Hahahaha

They can call it Diablo if they want or even Macan 2/3/5/6/8

Suddenly M5 become 525i.? :a-confused:

That is the 2GT...The proper 2 Series are 2 Doors Couple...

Maybe there is a stick-on M5 on the 525i

Some 5 series eg F30 changed out exhaust to quad exhaust, slapped on a M5 body kit, changed out the brakes, tuned a bit, add a M5 badge and henceforth becomes a M5

My highly subjective opinion so take with pinch of salt; Handling of RWD BMWs like the 3 series is still a bit better than M6. M6 handling is slightly better than the FWD BMW like the 2 and sDrive X1.

https://www.bmwblog.com/2018/02/24/mazda-no-longer-benchmarking-bmw-toyota-instead/

Finish is easy to compare and quite a personal preference. Mazda's finish is more frequently compared against Audi so that says alot.

Why even compare mz6 handling to a suv and mpv? Their higher cg won't help with handling.

Wifey called to clarify about the installation of AA/ CP, and apparently this requires a wired connection to the phone in order to work.

I'm not familiar with this phone integration thingy (beyond bluetooth so I can make and receive calls).

Could someone educate me if AA/ CP on other cars uses a wired connection or standard bluetooth connection?

the wired connection refers to the charging cable for our phone. it means one USB port in our car with be used for CarPlay or android.

Will book mine too. I need it to run my Spotify!!!!!

Agree, somebody asked a question so just trying to help.

Actually despite the higher cg, the handling of BMW's SUVs is better than some sedans.

It a mercedes Afterall. People buy the brand

People buy  Mercedes for snob appeal.

The Mercedes that you get today is not as hardy as those of yesteryear, like the W124.

Most of the base models are manufactured in South Africa and the interior is more cramped than a bread and butter 1600 Japanese car, and yet costs double the price.

Same as some Kia K3 owners when I pointed the flaws to prospective buyers.

They seem to have some ego inferior complex issues.

People’s egos are huge. Dissing the car is no different to dissing them. For me, if a car is good, it’s good. I had my share of lousy cars too.

Not like I destined the car and I have a huge stake in it such that I get upset with people critizing my work.

People need to get a life.

But you are right, physics cannot be defied. Most SUVs have really lousy handling and body roll. It is only brands like BMW and Mazda that have somehow maintained sedan-like handling for their SUVs.

Seems like skoda superb is being compare with mazda 6.. whats your views bro?

I think it's a matter of needs.

In terms of interior and boot space, Skoda superb wins no contest. It even beats out VW Passat.

In terms of exterior appearance, I have to give it to the Mazda 6. It has always been a handsome sedan.

Engine wise, Superb is 2.0L Turbo. On paper it's fast, 0-100 in 7s. To even get close to that kind of power, you need the 2.5L Mazda 6. Even then on paper the engine is inferior to the Superb's. But bear in mind that turbocharged engines need more care and must respect service interval.

Refinement-wise, Superb L & K has some fancy interior stuff like adjustable ambient lighting, suspension setting change, etc, typically seen in higher-end Contis.

Safety specs wise, Superb doesn't have autonomous braking, and no heads-up display which you can get from Mazda 6 from Executive trim onwards. Other stuff like adaptive LED headlights, only Mazda 6 Luxury trim have. Skoda still using Bi-Xenon headlamps, even in their highest L & K trim.

So all in all, test drive both. See which one fits your needs and your wallet.
