Ct3833 Supersonic June 9, 2019 Share June 9, 2019 Hi. My 17mth old car can't start. System indicated 'key not found' and 'key battery low'. Changed battery in key. Able to start car. After parked a while, same issue again. Any one experienced this? Thanks. Where did you buy the battery from ? If you pay attention, some of the new batteries out there are already expired. You can also swap the battery with the other remote and see if it is a remote or battery problem. ↡ Advertisement

Though mine is not Mazda 6, at once i had the same problem with my remote , and I spent a many dollars to replace various brand of batteries like Maxwell,Panasonic, sony etc, eventually the problem was resolved after I changed to energizer, and the remote is working perfectly since then. In the end, I got the batt replaced at TEK at $17 and all is fine. Got to know the batt has 2 thicknesses, that is why sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Not sure if it is true though.

Mine is not Mazda. By the way, there are two sizes, cr2025 is 2.5mm thick, 2032 is 3.2mm thick, it holds longer life than 2025 but slightly thicker. Both are of the same diameter and voltage. Bro @Koster, could you confirm if yours is also Energizer? We can share with the rest to help save some money, and better,..... trouble. Patwong 3rd Gear June 10, 2019 Share June 10, 2019 Bought Maxwell brand key battery yesterday (only choice at one neighborhood shop). Car managed to start this morning (lucky). Drove to TEK. But along the way, system indicated "key not found". Workshop tested the new key battery, found voltage ok. And helped clean up the contact point inside key fab. Also did a car system check and found no error code. Car battery ok. Will monitor and also look for Energizer battery. If change battery in TEK workshop, they use Panasonic brand. Was told all battery are the same as long can fit.

Maxwell and GP and I cannot remember what brand. TEK is using Panasonic though.
Tbt001 1st Gear June 10, 2019 Share June 10, 2019 Car Key Battery replacement: ensure you use type: CR 2025, (Lithium 3V coin battery; there are various brands). Best if you can go to a neighbourhood store which will replace it for you (typically $10 for battery+service). Just ensure they use the correct battery and check the expiry date. If you can buy this cheaply online and want to DIY then take a look at the following link. https://owners-manual.mazda.com/gen/en/mazda6/mazda6_8fk7ee16f/contents/07031300.html?kw=BATTERY%E3%80%80FOR%E3%80%80KEY Also: Make sure you don't damage the O Ring or the external plastic casing with your screwdriver. Good luck.
Patwong 3rd Gear June 11, 2019 Share June 11, 2019 Just spend my 1000 credit on my brila coating alignment and apple car play upgrade. Somehow they used a brila maintenance kit on the car and i wonder what use is it compares to the glass bottles. Anyway i feel i sort of been short changed as it looks more like a cleaning pack to me. At least car body maintained the smooth feel and shine like new? My ride body don't have the smooth feel anymore. And the dirt don't form the "beads" which could clean off easily. But I am ok. Still yet to decide how to spend the workshop credit.
LinHan Neutral Newbie June 11, 2019 Share June 11, 2019 (edited) Hi, my 2-month old Mazda 6 is my first car so I have little experience on the fuel economy of the car with my driving pattern. I do almost 100% city driving almost only between home and work. My home is near Redhill and work is near Suntec City. Now, I'm getting 12.3L/100km consistently. By following some of the experience I learned online, I never floor the accelerator pedal and only start my car in a gradual pace. I also don't drive over the speed limit. I have to refuel every two weeks. Still this fuel economy seems really far off from the official figure even taking into consideration of zero high-way driving. Could anyone advice if this is potential defect of the car? Edited June 11, 2019 by LinHan

My Mazda 6 2.0 only able to get 12L/100km for 100% city drive.I think it is normal because my old Sylphy 1.5 only can get 11L/100km for same driving pattern. However, my Mazda 6 can achieve 6-7L/100km if 100% highway.
Nkw0820 1st Gear June 11, 2019 Share June 11, 2019 On the issue of boot space, I was wondering has anybody totally taken out the spare wheel and the jack up tools hidden at the boot tray below to increase the depth of the boot cabin? In order to fit 2 foldable bikes, I tried. Only issue I had was the boot tray was soft and it buckled when I put the bike on it. So, as a quick fix, I put styrofoam below it to give it support. Its works, but I wanted to see if anyone came out with an even better solution. Thanks I have removed the spare wheel because sometime I need to keep the baby seat in boot.I have installed the lower boot kit (free gift from my SA) so the boot can be lower down for few centimetre. I think that you should able to purchase it from TEK.

Didn't know it can be so efficient on high way. ↡ Advertisement
