Hi Nkw,

 

At least carplay sometimes have sound and with tunein screen ... android auto never get tunein screen with free version.

 

Moreover, carplay screen looks half decent while just realised on kaki's Pioneer HU that AA is the same display and like lower primary school exercise book :(

Indeed Appleplay is much better looking and hence commented as half decent but mazda 6 for CO and primarily for googlemap cos stock one sucks ... family avoids phones from dead founding bully and ruling self proclaimed breakback horseman CEO.

 

Guess weekend bo bian and will stick to my forester with full android HU with tunein and many others ... this AA or carplay is no go for me personally and hope rumoured AA update will be a big step forward.

Hi Lammy,

 

Paiseh for the confusion .. I was just trying out the free version of tunein with wife's samsung and it is clear not only mazda AA as pioneer HU also has the same phenomenon .. it will not show under AA but reportedly paid version does not have this issie.

 

The workaround of using voice to start tunein, log off AA and restart yo make it appear under AA.

Tks but single screen oreli hard to see in stock mazda headunit display unlike 9" display full android headunit in my forester and no wish for split screen.

Not sure your query but please see attached photos after you plugged in your phone if on android.

 

1. Application appears as one of the icon

 

2. Select Application icon and you will see Android Auto in bold if connected or greyed out which means not ..

 

3. Selected Android Auto and you get into the mentioned primitive screen with rows of options ... you can also hold home as step#1 for 3 seconds to get to Android Auto screen

 

4. Select multimedia headphone icon and you see available ones .. this is where free version of tunein will not appear for selection until you follow the workaround with google assist voice activation of tunein, log off and restart Android Auto.

 

5. Enjoy free version of tunein with endless selection of crystal clear internet radios station including mediacorp's ... your friends may ask you for headunit brand/model to buy when they notice local fm stations reception still available till basement clear parks ..lol !

 

Hope this helps but it is basically 100% same as with branded headunits on Android Auto.

Both of them closed 3 mazda 6 orders today. Lol.

 

Exec at 104888.00 today. But this is inclusive of 6k overtrade n some disc etc.

 

Standard will be 5k cheaper.

 

We were all given open cat. So in a couple of days to say 2 wks we will get our car.

 

I signed for the demo vehicle at 4k off. Its exec.

 

Go down to leng kee bah to test drive n buy bah if u feel the price is right.

Hi bros on AA,

 

Just found out how to get to tunein menu ... press "return aka back function" ... you can select fav channels etc.

 

Not much info as I googled and hope this helps bros who struggled like me.

 

All good now especially wife dislike stock mazda connect menu and now with ok tunein album artwork albeit nowhere compared to full android HU due to limited but essential apps are available.

 

Saving grace is that it is quite intuitive and less complicated since options are limited ... mixed feeling if vfm at sgd600 but no concern on warranty impact vs aftermarket full android headunits .. and crystal clear internet radios including local mediacorp fm channels :)
