Yes it still starts, but the start button light will be blinking all the time. I'd hope don't have to bring into Mazda I think they will take a long time.

Maybe Switch not good,should not be a Problem,if Car no more Warranty,go outside Workshop like KHY & check.

Hi All, I just bought a Mazda 6 2016 2.0 recently. Heard about this thing called Carlinkit so bought and tried it out. Unfortunately I can’t seem to get the sync working.

Anyone else faced this issue? Or do I need to go to dealer to install CarPlay wires?

The prerequisite for Wireless CarPlay would be that the infotainment already supports CarPlay in the first place. Did you upgrade your MZD Connect to enable AA/CarPlay in the first place?

@Conan86i managed to find more info and realised its not worth it.. my unit doesn’t comes with carplay(2016 model) Min damage is about $700 if you are going the official route with no guarantee the updating of firmware will not have issues.

DIY route will be about 4-500$, with firmware update at service centre that will hopefully not screw up your display unit( risk of CMU freezing according to SA)

whole new info set is 3k+ if anyone is curious.

@tanwm Thank you Bro!

My right side mirror is acting up. I am gonna try this WD 40 solution. During the warranty period, I had both the left and right mirrors' mechanism changed by EuroKars.

However, warranty period is over.

So far, the most reasonable pricing is $90 to change the motor mechanism for one side mirror. Cheers.

For folks like me who does not like the Mazda iStop feature, below is a clip that shows how to disable it without impacting the rest of the electrical circuit. I've done it on my Mazda5. So far so good. Now I no longer need to press the iStop button everytime I turn on the ignition.

Hi,

ive decided not to go back to Eurokars for my routine servicing. Can someone recommend any workshop in the west that is specialise in serving Mazda carS? Thanks!

For the engine oil, has anyone used 5W30 instead of 0W20? Is there any big difference? I read that it would consume more petrol?  I just serviced my Mazda and the workshop changed it to 5W30 and they said it was fine to use that.

5W30 is in official spec, so no problem.

Thanks for your reply. After driving for a couple of days, I found the engine to be a teeny bit more sluggish. I changed it back to 0W20. I don't know, maybe it's just a perceived difference.
