Compared to when I first got the ride, it seems the ride feels rougher recently. Not sure if it is because our roads got bumpier or if i need to change something. Hence the question. I've already changed the shocks.... Don't let @RadX know. He will just tell you to .... change car. 😁 ↡ Advertisement

Thanks to all the forever digging to access to underground cable, piping etc... and poorly paved after that. I totally agree with this. The main road near my place just finished a paving a fresh smooth road, 2 weeks later, Singapore Power came and dig up the road to do cabling. Its a brand new, freshly paved road. Can't they do the cable first then the road. Now the road is bumpy AGAIN~ Tsk Going back to @tanwm question. I do prefer spirited driving thus I use aftermarket TIEN shocks + hard side wall tyres. Its personal preference.

DanielFong88 Neutral Newbie June 1, 2024 Share June 1, 2024 My mz6 (Skyactiv G) just reach 80000km, should I change transmission oil? Based on AD, no need to change as it can last permanent. But outside workshops suggest to change

But outside workshops suggest to change "Lifetime" isn't the lifetime of you or me or the car, but the lifetime of the transmission, until it piang. Go outside and change the ATF. Better for peace of mind.

That's why charging will take now than 8hrs. Not really using bigger current rating cable. Only those DC charging station like Shell will be thicker cable from station charger to car. mersaylee Hypersonic June 1, 2024 Share June 1, 2024 I don't believe in simi it's sealed... lifetime oil...got drain plug means need to drain...for whatever reason...I'd just do a drain and fill with fresh oil within specs...don't flush...change the filter if there's one... It's also important to go to a workshop that know the proper proecedure for the car model with right amount to fill...reprogram the tcm if necessary...

That’s the plan. For DC > 100kw, the cable will include coolant.
Kalthus Clutched June 9, 2024 Share June 9, 2024 Hi everyone, I'm looking to get my first car and have shortlisted the 2017-2018 Mazda 6 2.0, any advise if this car is relatively reliable? Anything to lookout for particular for a new car owner who has no experience in buying 2nd hand car? Understand that this is a mid-size sedan so having a hard time convincing my wife that its not as intimidating as she think it is, as she hasn't driven since getting her license. I have been driving my dad's car on and off for about a decade so not an issue for me. But, do you guys feel that its difficult to get into parallel parking lots or carparks that are well-known to be tight/small? Also noticed that late 2018 models are facelifted, other than the exterior asthetics, any major differences? Both pre and post 2018 face-lift looks great to me (post-facelift definitely looks better though!) but the latter costs more, so was wondering if its worth the extra $$. Thanks in advance! The car is generally reliable as it is quite old-tech, still using NA engines and torque converter automatics when many cars have gone dual clutch or CVT. It occupies a larger footprint than it looks - almost if not same as a Kia Stinger. Late 2018 models come with wired CarPlay/Android auto so if you’re driving often that might be a thing for you. Still, a few hundred dollars should be able to retrofit the 2nd facelift, but not the first facelift cars.

No sugarcoating - the size will definitely seem intimidating at first. But it has many proximity sensors so it will warn you before you hit something. It has lane keep assist also to help you figure out placing the car in lane. Late-2018 facelift also has 360-view cameras (though imo the resolution is lousy). Someone correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not sure if these features are available on all trims. Steering weight might be on the heavier side, not sure if that would be helpful for your wife or not. You might want to stand by additional budget for engine mount replacement, tensioner and belting replacement, spark plugs replacement. The jury is split on this topic, but you might consider ATF filter replacement too. After all, 2018 is already 6 years old! Personal tip, take note of the tyre age of the unit you end up getting. If you can get one with relatively new tyres, you can put off that expense for a while.

I came across a video in which life-time transmission fluid is indeed to last the lift-time of a transmission BUT this so-called life-time does NOT mean forever or eternity! If a transmission is to die in say after 7 years the unchanged fluid will of course dies with the transmission in this life-time and that life is definitely a finite period. I also came across this below video about to change or not to change transmission fluid, although it mainly on Toyota or Lexus fluid (nowadays they also used so-called life-time transmission fluid) but i think the context is applicable to other makes. And generally it is that if you want to change the transmission fluid, then do so at a finite interval, if don't want to change and already way passed conducive change period, then it seems better not to change and hope for the best...
