Guyz, asking on behalf of my bro. Hw much does the servicing package for the 2.0L std cost ?

 

I also want to know the price for a typical servicing, from TEK and also from outside workshop ?

Happens to me once in a while with my previous cars.But after a while, it gets connected. Have not happened to me in my one month old Mz6. I don't think there is any malfunction unless you are still unable to connect after some time.

You are right. It decided to work again on my way home just now. Hope it will not happen too frequently.

My Mz6 12mths old. Entitled 3 years free service + warranty.

 

Got this $1K service voucher havent use yet. Valid 36mths. So 24mths to go.

Most probably change batttery and tyres at outside workshop when due.

Then voucher what to use for? Any suggestion. Thanks.

You can also use to refresh your Brila coating every year.

Normal servicing is about $300+ you can ask for the price list from the service centre. is shows the price for each service.

I plan to use my vouchers to upgrade Apple carplay. Battery and Tires can get cheaper outside.

Hi,

Car collected last Oct.

Small rattling started about 2 months ago on uneven road or sometimes when I accelerate.

I hear it comes from around front left passenger area, while the passengers in car hear it coming from center or driver side.

I had removed all loose items including IU cover but sound still persist.

Had a test drive with technician during 5K inspection still not solved. He recommend me to book an appointment solely for this so that he can get person in charge of interior fitting to look into it. He suspects a loose cable inside door panel or dash may be cause.

Do update if you hv new finding.

Sent my car in at 1k service and TEK managed to get rid of the noise by re-aligning the wires for the front camera. As the cameras are installed by an outside vendor (not from the Japan factory) I suspect the Vendor did a lousy job putting back the panels together.

This is why if you can, got for brands/models that doesn't require tons of local retrofit, assembly works. I just can't accept my brand new car, nicely assembled at the factory, got town down by some local technicians that are on impossible dateline and morale, just becos the AD wanted to save their costs and to maintain their fat profits.  

 

BM Toyotas is one big no no. In order to keep OMV down and the AD profit level up, most Toyotas came as bare as u can possibly get. Even the aircon compressor are left out from the factory. Installation is done locally. No radio, no alloy wheels.

 

Only very recently that their Camry 2.5 (NOT base 2.0) came with factory leather. If you see overstuffed chairs with less than proper fit n finish, the leathers are done locally. The installer simply pull fake leather covers over fabric seats. They will not do a full job of stripping the fabric and foam and redo them in leather. Hence the overstuffed chair look.

If  Japanese or Korean car comes fully equipped, the accessories would incur the taxes and pricing would be uncompetitive

And it doesnt matter if their superbly overpriced cars keep breaking down on the road.... 

 

Competitive or not, its really up to the AD. Why PI can bring in really high specs vehicles from JDM yet the selling prices are lower?

 

and JDM offerings have very high OMV.

Seems like i'm not alone. My new car also has a persistent door rattling sound issue. Went down to TEK several times but still unable to resolve it. No choice but to continue to bang table until TEK resolves our issues. 

 

There could be inherent issues with the cars manufactured in recent years. Sigh.

However, it's perfectly sufficient and usable for the main purpose of gauging distance when parking. You don't really need high-res 1920 x 1080 for that short duration when you just want to be sure you won't bang into that other car/ pillar/ wall.

 

Don't forget that higher-res cameras likely will require higher power draw, and you may end up having to change several things as opposed to just the cameras themselves.

Also read on various comments on knocking sound from front when low speed over hump, some rattle over uneven road.

Gathered from various poats:

1. Absorber mounting need more grease

2. Absorber protector lubrication

3.control arm bushing replacement, greasing, tapping with mallet

4. Can also be front cam wire or harness loose

 

Some post even say it just gone by itself but others mentioned since day 1 or after few months and never goes away. Pretty mixed it seems

 

Good information, hope mine will be OK and the information will certainly help when talking to servicing person.

It's inevitable that in sg we are more concerned over such as we all paid a high premium regardless of make, a Japanese car in US or EU can be 20+k local currency which in our shore can be 5x and change out the currency to sgd.

 

Uniquely Singapore due to our policies and tax structure and car is classified as luxury item not essential, any tax can be imposed without much consideration relative to other essentials. Unlike in big countries where car are essential items.

 

I supposed all that we experienced be it a 40k us bmw that sell for 200+k sgd to 20k us japanese car sell for 100+k is a consequence of the policy and tax structure all dealers are out to make as much as possible though not all run biz with same philosophy.

 

Generally, technical/mechanical know how is not as good here in our shore when comes to more hard-core items like engine, especially transmission.... All in all just more more more money needed....

 

As many said here, buying car is a happy thing and the fact can afford a car in this ultra expensive environment no matter how and what dealer does etc we should count our blessings that we can do so.... Where many are living hand to mouth....
