Hey bros, some questions about Blaupunkt BP 9.0 camera in Mazda car.

1. Is the camera suppose to be recording overnight (during parked), until the battery drop to certain threshold then it cut-off? The manual say 24-hours park monitoring.

2. Anyone experience video being overwrite wrongly (seems to be), notice that 2-3days back the video doesnt seems to be recorded completely. For example, a 50mins drive, seems only record portion of it, or when the car hit bumpy road, the G sensor detected it and then only start to record it as "Event".

3. Default comes with 16Gb, what is the recommended brand/model after markets? Will bigger size SD card fixing overwrite issue?

Though it mentioned support upto 128Gb, but some bros say some camera may not work with with certain brand of SD card, so see if any good recommendation for bigger size SD card.

Thank you very much.

The default car camera given by TEK doesnt comes w parking mode. U will need to install external battery pack to do it but any issue will avoid the battery warranty.

Having said that, i strongly encourage ppl to change another dash cam w parking mode or install battery pack. Battery cost = $200-300

Hit and run without evidence = $300-$1000

Your choice ;)

Thanks for the clarification! Wondering if Mazda do the battery installation. You are right, anything we install aftermarket is debated by AD to the warranty liability.

Yes, you are right.

My 2 month old Mazda 6 just kenal hit and run on last Wednesday.

But the default car camera without parking mode so without any evidence.

I just install the Cellink Neo to enable recording while parking.

Hi Soul,

Small issue indeed on questionable void of warranty on battery.

I swapped out the stock dvr cam with a thinkware f770 .. the stock one is the same old one that eurokar is getting rid off from the preFL mazda 6 which is not suitable for the FL 2018 mazda 6.

It is seriously not safe as it covers precious windscreen view due to safety camera which is not available in the preFL version .. shame on Eurokar on this but guess whoever made this decision did not drive the FL version.

Cheers.

Richard

I just change my memory card from 16 GB to 128GB.

Because 16GB only can record less than 2 hours and it will continue overwrite the old video.

I just bought the 128GB SanDisk Ultra ($36) from Challeger and it look good now.

I tried a Samsung and a Sandisk SD card with the stock Blaupunkt dashcam and the dashcam hung after 2 days. Switched back to the stock 16GB SD card and everything’s fine. The aftermarket cards work well in my Marbella dashcam. Not sure what to make of this

Also may I ask where you got the Cellink battery installed to the stock dashcam?

bro, just to ask if your car is always expose and moving under the sun? I'm thinking of upgrade SD card too, but looking for a more reliable 1.

Thanks bro Nkw0820 sharing Sandisk ultra @$36. Later have time I go see which type is it.

Cellink Battery, will that void warranty? Need to re-run the existing blaupunkt  wire?

No. Wife uses the car mainly for the kids school commute so mileage is low. It’s mostly parked under shelter

I just upgrade the memory card on yesterday and I hope the dashcam will not hanging.

I bought my Celink Battery from Carousell and DIY installed to stock dashcam. It is working well on stock dashcam with parking mode is enable.

You can ask the shop to install for you ($30-$50).

I use back all the wiring for existing blaupunkt so I dun think will affect the warranty. The Cellink Neo can last at least 24hours with stock dashcam in parking mode.

Neutral Newbie

Hi, can i check anybody changed the solar film given by AD? I have just changed and experienced white uneven “gap”/spots along the defroster lines. Is this normal?

I use a lexar SD card, it works well with the camera.

Do you think it is feasible to relocate the BP camera to the left side of the safety camera? I saw some cars install thinkware not in the center of the screen

Probably not 128 but a 64gb. I bought it a few years ago for my BlackVue. When I traded in my old car, I didn't take out the blackvue, only the sd card. Now I realized the BP camera is worse than my old Blackvue.

I see. Looks like Lexar itself already is high endurance category. Many friend told me normal sd card usually not very lasting very to our hot weather. If your sd card can use for so long already proven the quality.

Yes blackvue itself, the hardware design is already sleek enough. The software is good too. I heard the first gen have some heat issue, subsequently is getting better and better...

The Dashcam power cable must go to fuse box and Mazda 6 fuse box is located at the passage side so I just open the cover and there is a customized fuse with soldering cable.

The stock dashcam without parking mode so both yellow and red cable are connected to the customiized fuse.
