But the tune is not even sporty to begin with. These are mechanical sound which is why we have already seen a lot of owners, at least from here doing their own sound proofing.

 

For example, no one would try and mask the VTEC growl in older Honda cars simply because they are delight to the ears.

 

 

 

My issue is with the road feedback noise and not so much the engine sound. In fact I quite like the zoom zoom sound when i rev the engine up to 5k rpm.

When I talk about aftermarket speakers Im referring to quality aftermarket component speakers costing at least $400 onwards a pair. They are normally rated 80-150w. There are also cheapo aftermarket speakers which sounds worse than stock Bose speakers and Im not talking about those.

 

I tried hooking up the 6â aftermarket speaker directly to the Bose amp and they sounded worse than the Bose stock speakers. The Bose amp is a low power amp and cannot drive 6â component speakers. You will need another amp to do justice to the 6â component speakers. However, for mid 3â speakers and the tweeter, you will need to connect them directly to the Bose amp because the Bose amp has already sorted out the mid frequencies. If you run the mid speaker through an aftermarket crossover, you will get a muffled effect which is worse than the original. It is like running the signal through 2 filters. At least this was my experience. Some gurus may tell u otherwise but you should test and hear it yourself.

 

This is what worked for me:

 

1. Changed front 9â woofers to 6â component speaker. Use the signal from the 9â woofers and connect them through a 150w amp to run the 6â speaker. Connect the aftermarket amp to the Bose amp using a step down module (you need this to cut down the power coming from the Bose amp so that there wont be double amplification of the signal.) Note: the amp is used solely to power the 6â speakers.

 

2. Replaced the mid 3â speaker with an aftermarket mid speaker and connect it directly to the Bose amp. No crossovers.

 

3. Left the Bose tweeter as it is. (Aftermarket tweeters sounded worse.)

 

If you have the Standard Mazda 6 without Bose this setup wont work. You will probably need a DSP.

I am quoted $98,800 for standard and $104,800 for Executive today. Immediate registration.

 

But only 1 year servicing and 3 years warranty.

Price increased by quite abit.

Went to TEK last week to have my GPS updated. It was like a normal service, hand over the key fob, the advisor took over and drove into the workshop and couldn't really see how they did it. But it was all done in 45mins. They also reformatted the Blaupunkt car cam.  Map version now is 2018 Q2, iirc. What I had before was in 2017.

 

If you ask me, I would say the map is still as crappy as before. Just for an example, in the originally installed map, I was not able to find Novotel on Stevens. Now with the map updated, I'm still not able to find it.

 

Actually, IMO TEK is using the whole exercise of asking owners to come down to "update the map before the expiry of 1 year" as a pretext to selling the Apple Car Play. Price is almost $600. Service advisor said having Apple Car Play is better compared to updating the car GPS which would cost more than S$100 per update after 1 year. I've not decided yet whether to install it.

My iphone’s Google Map able to sync with my HUD when using Apple CarPlay but I feel not easy to navigate as our HUD will disable touch function while driving.

Are you referring to the MZD connect screen, the small computer screen on the left side of the engine start/stop button. HUD refers to the projection on windshield

The HUD of FL mazda 6 exec is one cool dude with also bsm, lane departure, road speed limits in addition to nav .. how I wish I have it also for my forester xt.

At the new service centre of Tg. Penjuru. At the point of making appointment, the CSO said it could take 2hrs but was pleasantly surprised it was much quicker than that. 2hrs is inclusive of washing the car, which I declined.

Finally found suitable door seal for the gap between the front fender and front door for my forester.

 

Not perfect but the same idea that I observed on S class and 7 series but with designated plastic holder and flaps.

 

Yet to try on the mazda but 1 mentioned aliexpress order is good for 1.5 car but will see if I can get more sturdy Jap ones of same design:
