I use the dental probe to scrape off more plaques. Even with the electric brushing, and water flossing, there's still plenty of plaque to be scraped off using the dental probe. Not just the inter-dental, but the walls of the molar will plenty of them even after brushing and flossing.

I started using electric tooth brush about 6 years ago with a basic Oral-B Braun, this is the only brand I know and rotary toothbrush is also the only thing I know at that time. This is my first electric tooth brush

at that time I was really amazed at how well it cleaned and I asked myself why didn't I use one long ago. After about a year I discovered the brand has a toothbrush that has a 30 seconds timer for each quarter of my mouth so I upgraded it to the Triumph V2 5000. I love this tooth brush not just for its 30 seconds timer but more because its more powerful cleans better and battery lasted longer like 5 days. I bought 2 one for my home in Thailand and one for Jakarta as I was located there for a couple of years travelling between the 2 homes. 

One day my dentist asked me if I had tried ultrasonic toothbrush I said no and asked him for the brand he told me Philips. I know at that time Philips has electric toothbrush but didn't know its another technology thinking its same rotary. So I went to buy a Diamond Sonicare (white one) to try. The first time I used it I love it and thinks it feels cleaner than the Oral-B. Why I felt that is because it feels like its could clean well between the gaps and also seems like its easier to my gums yet the ultrasonic vibration seems to be able to shake stuff out easily. Unlike the Oral-B Braun which uses rubbing and brushing action on the surface itself this Sonicare is using ultrasonic vibration and it works very well even without literally rubbing the surface. I went back to the shop (Parisilk at Holland Village) and got another set for my traveling (permanently in my traveling bag so I not forget and have to use hotel toothbrush), this time round the shop has $20 discount for the pink colour so what the heck I got the pink to use at home.

I swear by the Philips Diamond Sonicare now. As for my first Oral-B above I still keep it and use it to clean stuff like jewellery or hard to clean places at home. It still can be use so why throw it away? The other Oral-B Triumph I still use it in my other toilet at home and another I left it in my mom's home in Singapore.

Now my story didn't end here, 4 months ago while surfing the internet I discovered a Xiaomi Mijia SOOCAS X3 ultrasonic toothbrush, I was curious as the price was only like $50 while the Philips Diamond costs $250 I think (of course the Philips comes with a very nice box and a glass for charging). So out of curiosity I purchased 3 units (1 for me 2 gifts). When it arrived and I used it I was amazed how similar it is with the more expensive Philips. I be damn. I have to say that the function is identical and but the bristles I find the Philips is softer however both cleans equally well. I will highly recommend this Xiaomi toothbrush to everyone don't need to waste your money on the Philips.

Oh I almost forget as I use it on a daily basis after more than 2 months I told my maid "thanks for charging my toothbrush" (I gave her one from the 3 I bought) as I have not charged it during that time I thought she must gave charged it for me. She replied no she did not charge for me and even her's she have not charged it. I was amazed, really.

OK. I've gravitated towards using the philips. 

Reason is cos the head is smaller. The ultrasonic tech makes better use of the toothpaste fluid pulsing through the gaps of your teeth. 

Also the 30s timer buzz is nice. Somehow the oral b I have doesn't do that. Maybe it's left out from this mid ranged series. 

I have the softer bristles bought from amazon. I didn't use the stock bristles. I think all these toothbrushes are too high powered so always get soft bristles to avoid overbrushing or damaging your gum long term. 

But the most important habit is to floss. I don't have time to floss in the morning but I make a habit of must floss before bed. Tying it to the brushing is a simple process called habit stacking. Of course need to be motivated.

1. Unfortunately they are not compatible.

2. I bought all my 3rd party replacement bristles from Lazada be it OralB or Philips, better pricing. So far all work with the electric machines. I didn’t know have different softness so now I need to look for them, thanks for the info.

3.I’m yet to shop for 3rd party for the Xiaomi bristles. But I really love the Xiaomi machine.

One question on electronic ToothBrush, what should be the correct brushing method?  In circle or hold the brush at one teeth and move to the next?

I hold horizontally and I don't hold in my palm like how I would hold a stick. Instead I hold with my fingers to avoid over brushing. 

Just move through the front and back of both the upper and lower rows over 2mins

I'm using the basic Oral B Precison Clean. I have over brushed, also I find the brush hard. I will try your method. Thanks

I always buy softer bristles. Anyway as our experience here, I feel that the philips sonicare is better than the basic Oral B ones.
