Digital Door Lock

Can give some good or bad review so far? I'm now considering P718. Thanks!

Just get a fingerprint digital lock, the new one can read very well. But if you are old, better get one using access code or RFID card, technology has its limitations. Lol...

Don't need to spend so much on a branded lock with multiple access features, ie. manual key, RFID, key code, fingerprint, etc. It is an overkill. I only used my fingerprint these days.

Mine not really digital but my condo access and my main door use the same card to access. So far stay 4.5years Liao battery yet to change... or maybe there is no battery to begin with lol might just work but the magnetic force ...... lock and card access are from Japan and can only order there

I am using a digital door lock with 4 access modes: Fingerprint, MF card, password, Back-up key. It's USD210.00 when I got it. It's powered by 4 AA batteries. You will need to replace it after a year. It's made of 304 stainless steel which provides the rust proof product feature.

The pros:

No need to carry lots of keys. No need to look for your keys before entering home. No worry to displace your key at office, car. Because your fingerprint is the key. Even if your finger is injured, you can also password. You can also share the password to your trusted people.

The cons:

The batteries needs to be replaced each a year. That's not a big deal for me.

I am using a local brand: SKLock model1058 from China. It's the fingerprint lock for my front door.

Pros:

1. Very quick access with my fingerprint (The fact that no two people can have the same fingerprint, it would be virtually useless to try and tamper with this technology)

2. NO MORE keys around me ( I always forget to take the keys with me )

3. Multiple ways to unlock ( besides fingerprint, you can also get the door unlock with password, card, and back-up keys )

4. Easy installation

5. Very sturdy material. Not the cheap plastic.

6. Mortise lock ( it's safer than the single dead-bolt lock )

Cons:

1. If your fingerprint is too wet or dry ( or broken ), the fingerprint sensor might lock you out. So you might need password.

2. The batteries can last for 1 year. I am just too lazy to replace it after one year.

Hope it helps.

Yup agree, I bought Samsung P728, been using for 6 months. So far so good! It has functions such as RFID, key lock, Bluetooth, thumbprint). Love it cause no need bring anything (no need keys, RFID card), cause I choose to use thumbprint / fingerprint. Best part is Samsung has an app that allows you to see who has just unlocked your lock / come home.

Cons: Recently, had to change battery, after 5 months of use. Price was still steep at $700+ despite a group buy sale when I got from Gain City last year.

Woah! That is some high security measure!

I doubt my MC will allow me to modify my mailbox like that even if I applied.

Anyway, mine is a small old gated community, everyone knows who stays in which apartment and which floor.

I just hope no one is crazy enough to crack my 3 digit pin to access the junk flyers and to help pay my credit card bills.  :D

Mine digital pin lock for letter box.

logical ... esp if the lock was seared by the PMD fire, so the electronics got fried inside the lock.

I was also about to post this from TNP. You beat me to it.
