Err... usually not true. Poor academics LIKELY due to poor comprehension/understanding LIKELY unable to be really good in practical, hands-on skills too. It's just a delusion for a lot of students who don't do well academically, that they can compensate in "practical" skills.

 

For many it's just a motivation problem... and lack of motivation means being unable to master anything, really.

 

Intelligence and driving skills got no correlation. Just like there's no correlation between better academic ability and lack of practical/hands-on skills.
